I noticed the other night that I have a dark spot by the CD search buttons on my radio. Is it pretty easy to fix or should I just live with it and save up for a nice aftermarket unit?

I don't believe it's extremely difficult. You will need soldering skills and patience and get the h/u apart to get the face off. I'm not sure what size/voltage of LED's to use though.

lightly flick it
yeah I know sounds dumb but thats what I thought until my dad flicked it a tiny bit and it popped back on. I still had a dead spot on a different button that I couldn't just flick to get on so try it before you go tearing the face off

Thanks for the info. I'll definitely report back to let you know if the flicking method works!

Well, the flicking didn't work. Guess I'll just save up for a nice unit and live with it for the mean-time.
