ran when parked last night. go to start today and just cranks. i didnt hear the customary whirr when the key was on. i took a known working relay from my 96 and still just cranked although i heard the relay click. so its a dead pump? and yes truck has plenty of fuel and strong battery

Sounds like the pump. You can always rent a pressure tester from autozone. Or if you feel like a real redneck, disconnect the fuel line connected to the filter and turn the key on hahaha.

Follow proper protocol and test the pump output first.

A quick way to tell if its a Pump take some Carb cleaner and spray it into the Intake while attempting a start , If it starts while your spraying and quits after you stop . its a good indicator you have a pump issue
