Hi!

I am a new Yukon owner as of yesterday. I have always admired 2 door SUV's, starting when I was in high school and my boss at the grocery store let me drive her ford bronco.

Eventually, I wised up and became a General Motors man. Got married, and somehow?!? lost my sierra to my wife.

Her (now mine) Jeep grand cherokee gave up the ghost, so I could finally justify buying what I really wanted, a Yukon.

Picture is attached-

That being said, the owners manual says 5w-30 for cold weather, 15w-40 for warm weather, and SAE 30 if no chance of freezing.

That can't be right, or maybe it is. Oil cap on engine says 5w-30, but it has been rebuilt.

5.7 liter, 1994 GMC yukon, 160,*** miles. Any idea what I should actually put in there?

I am stupid

Just following up on my own post.

5w-30 is right.

Some idiot (me), read the portion of the owners manuals for diesel engines.

Can you believe that guy?!?
