Hi All,
Well, I don't have the Tahoe yet, but am considering trading my 1987 Porsche 944 for a neighbor's 1998 or 99 Tahoe (he isn't sure what year it is, and I haven't checked the VIN yet). My current "fleet" are:
2008 Chevrolet Corvette - Stroker 418 LS3 resides under the hood. 3600 Stall Converter, Long Tube Headers, Line Loc and 345/40/18 Drag Radials (when racing) round out the mods that take my Corvette to 10.9 in the quarter mile. Oh, and it is currently my DD.
2007 Dodge Charger Daytona R/T - 981 of 1400 Plum Crazy Purple Daytonas. Fastest quarter mile I did in this car was 13.78 with cat back, cold air intake and a Predator tune. The Daytona is now my wife's DD.
1987 Porsche 944 - Bought this after selling a 1986 Corvette I had. I thought about making it my DD. Finishing up some motor work and then looking at trading with the neighbor.
1986 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS - I first bought this car to be my DD, when I had my 01 Z06 Corvette (traded in on the Charger above). Then, I started having work done to it....350 Stage II Jasper Motors Crate Motor, rebuilt 200-4R Trans to handle 650hp, 2200 stall converter, Strange Engineering Dana 60 rear with posi 3.73 rear, 100hp shot ZEX Nitrous (twin bottles in trunk), Eibach, Hotchkis, Bilstein suspension upgrades, rear Wilwood disc brakes, 17" ZR-1 replica rims, MT ET Street DRs on rear, fully restored interior (headliner to carpet and everything in between). I was going to drag race this one, but after hydrolocking the LS3 motor in my Corvette and my insurance company paying for the 418 to be dropped in (I am good friends with the shop that did my work, so got the bigger motor for same price), this has been sitting in the driveway. Nitrous has never been run through it. I've put maybe 500 miles since I restore the interior (2 years ago). I would love to find someone to buy it. Asking $10,000obo, if interested. Or would trade for a Tahoe/Yukon 4x4. Needs paint and minor body work. Trunk lid is shot, but I have another SS trunk lid in much better shape in garage. Also a trunk full of spare parts.
I'm looking forward to owning a Tahoe or Yukon, shortly. I am also looking forward to learning as much as possible from all of you on the Tahoe and Yukons and hope I will be able to contribute as well. Thanks for having me here.
