I need a longer drive shaft. Not even sure if the one in my truck is stock. At any rate, if I can get one from a jy then that would be easier. I need to know how long they are in a few different rigs. Suburban, 4dr Tahoe, truck ect. Could some of y'all measure the ds length for me. Thanks

mine is 36.25 in from end to end. I need one that is at least 38.25 in.

As you can see from my pics, it is in dyer need of a new one

from what i understand its like a single cab truck. i also have a 2 dr so the 4 dr should work or maybe an extended cab 1500. go to the junk yard and try one out and if not then swapfor a longer or shorter 1

The 4 doors have the same wheelbase as reg. cabs @ 117.5" and the 2 doors are 6" shorter. Given these years are all pretty much the same from the tailhousing forward, one from a 4L80e equipped regular cab (trans is ~2.5" longer) would probably get you close.

I'll get you a measurement tomorrow afternoon from center to center on the u joints on my 4 door though.

Thanks Steam. That will help so I can call the yard and have them pull one from a specific vehicle instead of crawling under many trucks with a tape measure

Center to center from the u joints on mine is 41 1/8". Originally a small block, 4L60e, NP243 transfer case, 10 bolt rear.

Probably know this already but if the truck has a 4L80e it will probably have a SF 14 bolt or FF 14 rear, so you would have to get a conversion u joint for it to be a bolt in job with a 10 bolt.

I would see if they have a 3/4 ton regular cab, 5.7/4L80e/SF 14 bolt and go from there. :Handshake:
