mine has 3.42's how bout yours?

so thanks to the forum i used the vin decoder website and learned my 08 Denali has 3.42's, which explains why i gets waaaaaay worse mileage than my Denali truck. i was wondering what are the other possible gear options and what kind of mileage do you get, i get around 12......

I have 3.73 and get 15 usually around town haven't taken any road trips to check highway mileage.

I've got the 3.42's also. They suck, this thing doesnt tow worth a shiat.... How do you like to 4.11's? I'm thinking of changing either to that or the 3.73's. Have you done any towing?

I have stock OEM 4.10s. When the truck was stock I was getting ~16 mpg city and ~19 mpg highway (flat road at 70 mph). This was calculated by hand not DIC. Based on comparison threads, it seems like the V4 mode engages more often in trucks with 4.10s resulting in better mileage.

Just for reference, I have the AFM 5.3L engine, 4L60E 4-speed tranny, and 4wd.

no towing yet, ran into what I thought was an in town mileage issue, but its back to good...love them around town, and with 31" tall tire, should be sweet spot for highway
