I am looking to buy a supercharger for my 2013 Yukon XL 5.3L 4X4, I read that the LS9 supercharger can be put on a LS3 but I haven't seen any forums stating if there will be any necessary modifications to install it. I know that the SLP supercharger is made for GM trucks and SUV and is a direct fit which would be easiest and im not sure if it is true that it would increase my hp to 550. However Im pretty sure that the supercharger for the LS9 will have a higher output of hp than the SLP. Im just curious if it is possible to install the LS9 supercharger as easy as it would be to install the SLP supercharger? But right now im leaning more towards the SLP just because it seems to be the easiest and it is street legal.

You have cathedral heads on the 5.3... The LS9 S/C bolts up the LS3 rectangular heads. The SLP or a Magnacharger will do you fine.
Best of luck !

So would all I need is the rectangular heads to get it to fit properly?

Hmm, the correct SLP system will bolt on to your existing long block, and is ~$700 less than the LS9 unit that will require you to swap your heads. Cost-wise, it seems like a no-brainer, for similar performance.

The Rectangle Port heads require a 4.00 or larger bore and will only fit 6.0 or bigger, you would need an adapter to mate the LS9 blower to cathedral heads would be the only way to run it...much cheaper to just get a kit designed for your truck

Maggie tsv 1900 will do you just fine. Everything in kit is made for the 5.3. That's what I'm running and pushing 10psi

Or look into an LSA Swap. Using the SC off of a CTS-V or ZL1 seems to work pretty well. Everything can be down for under $2500-$3k

If you find a take off at a reasonable price.
