Short version: What's needed to add a second key fob to my 2013 Yukon? I do not need a physical key cut.
Longer version:
I have two physical metal keys and one loose key fob. I'm looking to buy a second fob and get it programmed to the car. The fob I currently have looks like this one:

I'm getting conflicting reports when searching the forum on what years need the dealer to program a key fob or not

On my 2011 Equinox I was able to get a $15 replacement switchblade key (fob + key in one unit) and just add it to the car myself.

On a 2013 you need access to a Tech 2 or equivalent. A local locksmith can likely do it for you for less than $50 for both.

you have linked to 2 different things, programming a 2nd key is easy and can be done in seconds, programming a fob is entirely different.
the pictured FOB is not oem for your vehicle it looks like someone bought the "boost auto" replacement
if you buy another boost auto fob it will come with a obd programmer which is typically good for 3 uses.
you will want to do both fobs at the same time existing and new, otherwise if you just do 1 the other one will no longer work.
when you program a fob the old programming is erased.

also if you have the power rear hatch you will want the fob with rear hatch function

Thank you! If I program a second fob (and reprogram the first fob) will anything need to change with the physical ignition key? I assume not, just want to clarify before I brick my...brick lol.
