I started a thread "where are wires for Electric Brake controller for trailer on NNBS?"
TowGMC responded, and provided some great input:

watch the video in that thread, and then all these pics should be pretty clear.
I made up a little chart before I started:
tahoe end ................... Signal..................controller
white .................. ground.................. white
Blue/white .................. brake light.................. red
Red/black .................. battery power .................. black
Dark Blue .................. output to trailer .................. Blue
and i put a towel down, in case I dropped any solder
there are two wires under the hood, one is for the trailer hot lead, and one is for the trailer brake controller power lead.
wire by fender:
wire by brake booster:
however, the two leads have different sized holes, and will only fit on the correct terminal. Both terminals are HOT constantly, so your brake controller will stay on when the key is off (the Tekonsha P3 powers down after while)
I had to start the flex loom on the cables in front of the fuse box, and then thread it back onto the wire, to get the flex loom to cover the wire back to where it came out of the OEM wire loom. I had to tape the flex loom every ~5 inches, because the wires were so kinked, they would poke out of the Flex Loom.
the wires under the dash are DIRECTLY above the Emergency brake pedal, and they are also uncovered, so i pushed some heat shrink back up & over all over them.
i put heat shrink over each wire, and i put some heat shrink over the junction to provide physical strength.
most folks would mount the brake controller at the bottom of the dash & try to hit metal, but the lower brace is ribbed, and not flat enough to drill/thread a screw into.
i took out the knee panel & drilled holes from behind. 10mm & 2 phillips screws
make sure you push the trim clips back onto the knee panel prior re-assembly
dont forget to use a circuit breaker as recommended in the instructions, Advance Auto has these in the same section as the fuses, and I got all the flex loom from Advance, also. my local store still gives me the 10% military discount, because i buy so much stuff from there.
i put a bit of heat shrink over the circuit breaker posts:
