I'm getting my truck ready to haul a 25' camper; it has the tow package including the transmission cooler. I know that everyone professes their love for the Tru-Cool 40k on the newer models, but I can't find much on the OBS side of things.

I have read that you need to be concerned with the tranny fluid staying too cool in the winter and it does get cold here in Denver. Is the 40k a good fit for cold climates? I know they sell a cold weather bypass but I'd like to keep the system as simple as possible I'm leaning towards the B&M outlined here because the size seems to fit well and the brackets will work with a little work:

Does anyone have the same B&M cooler (70266) that also tows? Has it worked well?

I would also like to add a tranny temp gauge. Can I add one inline with the new cooler, on the incoming side?

So I've decided to go with the B&M cooler and will be installing it this weekend. I'm going to follow the guide here and won't be using any rubber hose:

Where the OP used an adapter pictured here, I'm thinking of using a brass tee and installing a temp sensor for a gauge in the cabin:

Is this a good place to do this? Which side of the cooler would be the inlet (fender side or center side)?
