Pretty sure I know what the answer will be. :)

My fuel pump has been whiny lately and so I bought a new fuel pump to have on hand.

The Bosch pump said it was an improved OE design with a longer service life. That sounded good to me as the last one was only replaced about 8 years 15k miles ago. Also came with the pigtail.

Since then I've seen someone say "Don't buy the Bosch pump", but didn't give a reason why. And a search for 'fuel pump' shows only recommendations for Delco and Delphi.

Guessing I should probably return it and get a Delphi or a Delco?

Make sure you replace the filter while your in there. In fact, some fuel pumps will not have a warranty unless you replace the filter.
