As the title states... I lowered my tahoe 2/4" with bilstein hd shocks and the ride is stiff in the rear... I read some posts saying that the hd's runs smooth and so I decided to give them a try... So now I'm deciding whether to get belltech nitro 2 or the belltech street performance shocks... Which one will last longer and yet give a better ride? Is the street performance shocks just as stiff as the hd's?

I think my Z71 shocks ride great..... and I had the Bilsteins shipped to compare and they were slightly softerr than the z71s.

They definitely shouldn't be too stiff being how soft the belltech springs are.
I've ridden with that rear combo and I liked it alot.

The hd and belltech combo is perfect.
It's not the hd causing the issue I'm willing to bet it's the bump stops.
Might be that you forgot to change to shorter bump stops or that you are at a 4 inch drop and you need to cut the bump stop shorter or do the free travel mod.
If you need to cut the bump stop there is a thread or I can take a pic of mine if you want.

I did the free travel mod and installed shorter bumpstops that clear and the ride is still stiff

I actually bought my kit locally and ordered the shocks from tirerack.com... The kit came with the shock extenders... Is there a break in time for the shocks?
