Just got done talking to the mechanic working on my truck and he told me that I completely blew out the posi. Oh and he estimated it a roughly a thousand bucks.

Your yukon has...had...a posi-trac rearend? I thought all of our NBS trucks were limited-slip rearends.

1-g for a new rearend.......I wouldn't think it would be that high unless that's installed ;)

no some nbs had a posi. a g for the posi? or a new rear? cause a new posi put in for a g is not crazy.

Trutrac + master install kit + labor shouldn't be more than $800-$900 and that's book time on a 10bolt. Pretty easy to do yourself, 4-5 hours for a novice.
