Any way to remove the XM tab from display?

I've got a 2010 Chevrolet Tahoe, and the three-month XM trial subscription finally expired today. I was hoping the XM tab would just go ****! and not appear beside the AM and FM radio tabs, but no, that would make too much sense.

Any way to make the XM tab disappear -- besides shooting the display -- since I have no intention of subscribing to XM radio?
