Hey All

I have a strange issue I am dealing with on my 2009 Tahoe. My Air Conditioner will stop working after a given period of time when it is very humid out. When it happens, it is always is accompanied by a "whooshing" sound and the air flow seems to be blocked. My current solution is to turn the AC off but leave the blower on. The Air will get colder for a little bit almost as if the AC is on. Shortly after the whoosing sound goes away, airflow is returned to normal and it is just as if I have the vent on. I turn the AC back on and the cycle starts again. It's almost as if something is freezing somewhere then thawing, etc.

I recently read a service bulletin about cold air behind the glove box. The cause was air leaking in and bypassing the blower motor. I sealed the area described in the bulletin and was hoping it was playing into my AC issues but no luck.

Does anyone have some good diagrams or any kind of starting point?

I'm Lost.

Thanks
Trent

What drain pipe?

I will also add that the accumulator gets iced (frosted) over as well. I am not sure if that is normal or not and haven't paid close enough attention to know whether or not that always happens when this symptom occurs.

Inside the engine compartment pass side against firewall. Hard to see. Might be overcharged?? Others will chime in.
