Hey guys and gals,

So my truck is coming along nicely and hopefully done soon from our almost complete rebuild.

It's a 99 2 door 2WD. We put 2" drop spindles on it, and for the time being she will be fitted with 17" Impala wheels. Just until I save up for something bigger/better.

Anyway, can anyone point me in the right direction as to tire size that will properly fill the wheel wells?

Here are a few pics. The tires on the wheels now need replacing and aren't even correct size for the wheels. Just put them on to have her rolling.

For the fun of it, here she was when I got her:

Well not sure if this helps.

I have 20 inch wheels with 275/45 tires on 8 inch rims. Wheel and tire are 25 3/4 tall. I have a 4/6 drop that netted 5 1/4 front and 7 rear.

So, truck is a great ride. The left front will rub on full compression and full lock to the right.

If you are not going to lower your truck anymore I would say 22 inch wheel (what really wanted) with similar size tire 275/45.

Thanks for the info. 22's is what I was thinking eventually. Just need to fit some decent tires for these impala wheels for a short time.

I'd go with either a 255-55-17 or 275-50-17.

found this pic on the web with info....

DJM 3/4 drop, the front tires are a 235/60/17, and the rears are a 275/55/17.

and if you ever want to go more than a 2"spindle...
here's my 2 door with DJM 2"spindles/2"springs with half a coil removed and rear flip kit
20x8.5 w/245-40 and 20x9.5 w/275-40.

Thanks for the tire suggestion.

What kind of springs up front? And what all is involved in a flip kit? Cost with labor?

I had a lowered 1500 reg cab in high school, but have since had all maximas. So not in tune with truck suspensions.

As for my Tahoe, it has DJM suspension components. 2" drop spring with half a coil removed/cut. Flip kit is a pretty easy task. Purchased the drop kit for $800, 2" springs, 2" sprindles, flip kit and shocks. I took care of the labor myself.

Mine is just 2" spindles and shackles on the rear. Am I sacrificing ride quality by having stock springs up front with this setup?

Any other thoughts about that setup? Or thoughts on how it would look once I put 22"s on?

No sacrificing ride quality up front with what you got.

As for appearance that all depends on what you want. There are many wheel and tire combinations that can be used. I'd say figure out how low you want to go and then go for wheels/tires.

Thanks
They made a big difference in ride. Even though i called DJM and asked what part number to use they are not the right ones. I made them work though. lol
Your tahoe is sweet man.
