I just installed an R/T-300 enclosure (ported) that is designed for the 12 inch R-series Alpine subwoofers; of which I have (seen below). The enclosure is very well made and is tuned to 40 Hz.
The great thing about this sub box is, I can unplug it and remove it when I need the rear space...
Rear Speakers Installed:
I decided to go with Alpine R-Series component speakers in the rear. I put the 6-1/2 inch base speakers in the 2nd row doors, and the tweeters in the posts of the 3rd row. I installed them last weekend, and then tuned the Alpine amp to them, and WOW, the highs sound...
Don't make the mistake I did. I intstalled the same LED taillights as Tast101 (Deanti') did; looks like the same truck too. However, I didn't realize that the light positioning was different, and I blew fuses and ruined a couple of gauges in my dash AND fryed a component in my alternator. It...
When I bought my '03 back in 2005, I had the dealer replace a suspension part in the front-end of my truck. I forgot what it was called, but it's part of the steering assembly, and it lightly knocks when I make a turn. When they replaced the part, the sound disappeared. Now it has returned...
The rear post speakers...
OK, thanks guys. I think I'll be running new wires to the speakers then.
I still am stumped on the rear speakers... My '03 appears to have two (2) speakers on each rear side: One in the 2nd row door, and a small tweeter on the 3rd row post. If I place coaxial...
I just installed an Alpine receiver/media player (iDA-X305s) and a 100W X 4 amplifier (PDX-F4), but haven't touched the stock speakers ...yet. I will be changing the front/rear door speakers soon, but I want to hear from someone who's installed component speakers on all doors (or had an...
Pop your installer right in the face!
Could be the Amp's remote turn-on wire connected to the Accessory power. If someone else did the install, they must have heard it! If you did the install, then have a pro look at it. Look at the wiring, is it messy? If so, then pay someone to do it...
Thanks, you all have solidified my thinking. I never thought about a mounting board. This is my first time on this forum. Before I knew it my question was posted and Here I was in the 2007 and newer forum. ...didn't have the patience to figure out how to delete it.
My '03 Yukon has a basic stock sound system installed (no bells & whistles). I'm going to install an Alpine HU (IDA-X305S) and digital Amp (PDX-F4). I blew my wad$, and will have to wait to install performance speakers at a later time.
My question is: WHERE do I install the Amp? It needs...
