I wish I didn't have the handsfree liftgate, its the only thing I don't like about my truck. I'd never advise somebody to add it if you don't have it.
Update on the GM fix -- Not a 100% fix, it tried to close on a commissary bagger loading groceries but I caught it and held it up. Still, the GM fix was worthwhile as it is much better now (It hasn't tried to close on me). I wish I knew how to permanently disable it without messing up the rest...
The rental companies make a fortune on them too, charging well over $100 a day around here and, as you said, they are in high demand and stay rented. Then after 6 months to a year they sell them for about 10-15K less than sticker. If they can rent one out 300 days a year, thats 30K in rental...
Are there any high mileage 2015+ models on here? I know there are lots of older ones still going strong after 250K miles but how about the newer models? Anybody put up big numbers? What did you have to fix to get there?
I just let my trial expire because I never used any on-star features except checking vehicle status with my phone using the Chevy app -- but I only checked the status a couple times. I think other stuff on the app like locking the doors still works without it. The in-dash navigation looks like...
Appreciate the answers but why would they make it look like separate dummy panels across the front if its all one piece? Anybody got a picture of tow hooks or anything else installed there?
My 2016 LT has factory fog lights. But, between those fog lights there appears to be 2 removable panels on the lower bumper that are about the size of fog lights. If I didn't already have fog lights, I would guess those panels are covering the place where optional fog lights would go.
I don't...
I had the lift gate reprogram done today at the dealer. Even with the GM printout from jcgvt01, I still had to bat away comments about how this update might not cover my truck, and it requires a part to be ordered, and it might not fix the problem -- wrong-wrong-wrong. Eventually, they agreed...
There is a big difference between being forced to buy back and choosing to buy a vehicle back because a dealer is tired of dealing with complaints. In the later case, the dealer is not going to document anything derogatory on the vehicle and nothing unusual will show up on a VIN search, only...
Q: What is GM doing with the 2015+ Tahoes and Yukons they are buying back for booming vibration issues? Just selling them used to someone else who isn't concerned with those problems? If so, its probably a win-win for GM. They don't have to keep dealing with service issues on the trucks and...
IMO -- You are better off without it -- Check this: http://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/threads/how-to-disable-hansdfeee-lift-gate-sensor.77403/page-4#post-1090042
I'm preparing to do this mod but first have to fix a corner of the air dam near the wheel that has a broken mount tab from too much curb pounding. I will need to drill a new mount point near it to shore it up. The chin spoiler isn't damaged just the mount tab on deflector. Probably like that...
This is great news and I'm happy someone was able to follow through with a fix. After speaking with my dealer's service manager on the phone I knew I'd need to have some solid evidence there was a fix available before going down there because they didn't have any idea what I was talking about...
2016 Tahoe LT 22K miles - zero buffeting. The only slight vibration and low frequency sound experienced is when its in v4 mode and lugging a little. But I know what that is and doesn't bother me.
I rented a 16 Yukon for a day when I was trying to decide what to buy and it didn't have any...
On the iPod charging, no way to prevent Apple Car Play from taking over if an Apple device is plugged into USB. Get cig lighter adapter or use 115 port and it won't happen. I know its annoying. Not complaining though because Apple Car Play maps linked to phone is much better than built-in Onstar...
I have wireless charging on the center console but I use iphone. I've heard the next version of iphone may have it. Hopefully it will work with Android wireless chargers but kind of doubt apple will cooperate like that. On the other hand, apple car play doesn't work unless the phone is plugged...
Just keeping this thread alive -- this is one of the only things I don't like about my truck. I have an awesome power liftgate I keep turned off because it always tries to close on me. Hoping somebody figures out the fix. I wish there was a wire to clip that would disable the sensor but not the...
I was kinda thinking the same thing -- If a cop is coming to save my ass I want them to have the most kick-ass vehicle possible, with the most gear stored in back, great all weather capability, ground clearance, weight to smash through barriers, and so forth. I also want them to be more...
Nice mod. Considering the height of the rest of the truck, its annoying to scrape parking curbs all the time. Does anyone know how much it affects gas mileage? Maybe 1 MPG?
Bought an off-lease 2016 Tahoe LT first week of January. 15K miles. Love it.
It has a Zurich Shield sticker on the side window. I assume whoever original fleet owner was paid extra for this from the dealer. I've bought plenty of new cars and never paid for a dealer add-on like this. I always...
I don't know how to tell if you have the handsfree liftgate function. Mine can open with a center console switch, key fob, or the hands free. It also closes with a button on the tailgate. You can't turn these functions on and off individually, its all or nothing.
