Appreciate the input guys. The windshield does have a little crack in it so I will call insurance and they can replace as well as seal with glue correctly.
Good call on the sunroof, It seems like I have to play with the roof to allow it to seal right. It has a hard time stopping in the...
The glue on the windshield did help but still extremely noisy. I am starting to wonder if the wind deflector in front of the sunroof is causing some type of turbulence. Also a receipt does not pull out when the door shuts either so those seals should be good.
Thanks for the link! I dont have led bulbs but after reading that it takes one circuit to control them while driving makes me wonder. I have a blown fuse for the 12 plug that only comes on when the truck is running. I need to replace that fuse and see if the lights then work.
I don't have a bug deflector but I do have the wind deflector before the sunroof.
I just cleaned the windshield and black seal real well and put down some "black rubber adhesive" maybe that will hold down the seal. I placed a receipt between the door and shut it with good results on that...
I have an 05 Yukon xl with sunroof and it is the noisiest ride I have ever been in. It has rain guards and a deflector in front of the sun roof and it's still crazy loud. Is there a reasonably inexpensive way to fix this?
My map lights work when I open the doors but will not come on while driving down the road. Tried with some light over ride on and off. Any suggestions?
Thanks Prohect Denali! May need some input. The problem seems to be hit or miss. Always a miss when I pull the negative cable and check circuits for amps. It's almost like the drain is there some days and some days it's not. I will give it another test this week and post results.
My 05 Yukon has some parasitic drain going on and it is very hit or miss when trouble shooting. Some nights battery is drained, some nights it isn't.
I just noticed that when I open my passenger doors at night, the dome lights don't come on. Also I reached in and turned the truck off from...
Guessing it's not a diode gone bad then. But with alternator unhooked and engine off it produces 12 volts when checked between negative terminal and alternator output.
My truck is a 2005 Yukon with 5.3. That page didn't seem to have my year as an option to see what alternator type I have.

Sounds like you may have done this once or twice! Thanks for the pulley but tip! So the unit pictured is a 10SI? I was having trouble locating specs based on vin number.
Also do you happen to know if a good rebuild kit manufacturer?
Anyone have info on fixing a bad diode on an alternator for 5.3? I saw a few items that might work. It still puts out great voltage but it drains the battery when turned off.
The inline plug looks like a great temporary fix but if I could rebuild the bearings and the electrical components...
Nice! This makes me think there is hope! Guess all there is to do now is to just try it out. Doesnt look like pulling the cover is too hard from what I have seen online.
My stock driver heater is also shorted out so I will be installing a new one. I see that OEM are very expensive and...
Yup looking for new stroller as we speak haha Looks like you have good room for driver to still lean back. Thats a big plus, I am 6'2 and my wife is 5'10.
