    2000-2006 Yukon Denali

Which system tends to work better, the mechanical system in the 01 and 02 or electric system in 03 to 06?

    Denali's demand a premium?

I'm at a slight advantage living in Indiana. Just about in the middle of all of them, that's why I'm looking nationwide

    Denali's demand a premium?

Cars.com is where I've found most of the Denalis. In fact for some reason cars.com has more specialized models (Denali and 2500) vs autotrader which has mostly regular models

    Denali's demand a premium?

No problem, I'm actually looking nationwide. Also searching a couple different auto listing sites (are we allowed to mention names?) Also this is going off pictures and descriptions. They could be total junk on the underside, and mechanical wise

    Denali's demand a premium?

    The 100 to 120k range

    Denali's demand a premium?

So in looking for my new family vehicle I've more or less decided on a Yukon XL Denali. I want the 6.0 and really like the creature comforts it offers. I can find a few in my budget of 8000ish, but I noticed if I bump it to 10,000, there are tons. But the thing is they are in the same shape and...

2000 to 2006 models worth it?

Only reason I'd ship is if it's cheaper than a plane ticket and the gas to come home. And I don't think that is likely

2000 to 2006 models worth it?

I'd say replacing rusty brake lines is worth getting a great vehicle. Now I just have to decide if I want to try to find a 2500 or a Denali. I want the 6.0 but 2500's are a bit harder to find.

    Lift keys

Do keys not add extra wear on front end components? I thought they put the half shafts at extreme angles? Could be completely wrong! Does small 2 to 3 lift exist that doesn't use new keys? I'm new to this torsion bar suspension. Every 4x4 I owned before had solid front axles and no torsion bar...

2000 to 2006 models worth it?

I'd have no problem taking a road trip to get one. It would just be a matter of convincing my wife to go with me on the really far ones so I'd have a co-driver

2000 to 2006 models worth it?

Do the rockers on these commonly rot away like the Fords? Thankfully my father-in-law is a body mechanic for Chevy so if it wasn't too bad I could probably get him to replace rockers for the cost of materials and some beer. Makes it a little easier to accept one with a little bit of body rust...

2000 to 2006 models worth it?

I'm assuming a 2500 that's been well taken care of with around 150k miles is nothing to worry about?

2000 to 2006 models worth it?

I was referring to the transfer case and how on the 01-02 it's a viscous coupling and on 03+ was some kind of open differential type thing?

2000 to 2006 models worth it?

After reading more I think if I can find a great deal on a 01 or 02 XL Denali (it appears they have the best AWD setup), or any 2500, I'll jump on those. But for the most part it appears a regular old well maintained 1500 will work just fine for me.

2000 to 2006 models worth it?

I knew the Yukon XL Denali had the 6.0 just wasn't sure if there was any real reason to jump to a 2500 to get that 6.0 and tranny vs the Denali with the 6.0 and 4l65e. I don't really need the bigger towing capacity, have nothing to tow!

2000 to 2006 models worth it?

Definitely glad to hear all this. From what I read it was making me worried the transmission was going to make me shy away from the Chevys. I have no brand loyalty, I simply get whatever is the most reliable, best priced, and fits my needs. That looks like the Suburban, but I wouldn't run from...

2000 to 2006 models worth it?

I thought only the 2500s came with 6.0 in standard trim? If so those are out of my budget. I will keep your front diff in mind though if I find a great deal on a Denali

2000 to 2006 models worth it?

I'd love to find a Denali for the 6.0 and its power, but don't want to deal with that front diff they like to destroy

2000 to 2006 models worth it?

So got some questions for you guys. I'm looking for a new family hauler and I've narrowed it down to the the Expedition/Navigator, Yukon/Tahoe, and Suburban/Yukon XL. Obviously the Chevys are the same just longer. I read the sticky about buying a GMT-800 and their issues. The ones I am...
