I'll do a visual of my condenser and make sure I don't notice any leaks. I would hate to have the new compressor fail again in 6 months because of a leak that wasn't repaired. Thanks for the info.
For anyone wondering I had to pay for this repair out of pocket. System was completely void of freon and the compressor overheated and locked up. New compressor, system flush, and $1200 later....
Just had my A/C compressor fail. Typically I am a DIYer, but I don't want to mess with freon and A/C work.
I'm out of my bumper to bumper (44k miles), but the dealer can't tell me if my power train warranty will cover the repair. They want me to bring it in and pay a $150 diagnostic fee before...
Scratch that. I noticed the lighting tonight and it's more blue than the factory LEDs.
It blocks the rear view mirror pretty much completely.
Model is avxmtg13uhd. They make a 10" model too but I think it would block most of the rear view as well.
I went with the 13" Audiovox bc of the internal dvd along with hdmi and usb inputs. It will allow to me use my Roku stick which is a plus.
The lights are LED and the temp matches the factory LEDs. The output pattern is a little different because each dome has three LEDs and a plastic shroud...
Here are some pictures. You can see the three metal tabs at the rear of the assembly and the two plastic tabs that I broke the metal pieces off of. Part of one of the metal pieces is still attached.
Sorry completely forgot to take pics. I actually removed mine to install a drop down TV, but if I were planning on reinstalling it I would probably purchase the metal tabs that I broke. I'll try to get you some pics tonight.
It's a PITA. There are some metal clips that get snagged on the headliner. Also there are metal clips that pinch onto two plastic tabs that are part of the dome housing assembly and that snap into the vehicle sheetmetal. I managed to break both of them when removing mine. The assembly cover and...
Traded wife's van and my toy (2014 Rubicon) for a Yukon XL.
Two days in the driveway and added 22's and some weather mats. Installing a 13" drop down TV tomorrow. Will post pics of the TV when it's done. Trying to decide between a Denali grill vs Billet
