Jason- I have not installed the E-fans. Still deciding on if they will help or not on the 8.1 due to the larger cooling needs it requires. Well it's a 02 yukon xl 2500 but ya it doesn't notice the trailer very much lol. I've just seen reviews good and bad for the E-fans so I'm still undecided.- dcarver

I'm thinking of converting my 02 8.1L to E-fans. Now I know everyone recommends this mod but I've heard the 8.1 needs a lot more cooling. Flex-a-lite has a kit that flows 5500CFM. Would this be enough for towing 7k lbs in 100* heat? And if anyone has this motor, did it make a noticeable...- dcarver

Suburban v Yukon XL
I have found only very minor differences in my 03 1500 LS suburban and 02 2500 yukon xl SLE. The seats were upgraded in 03 but the 02 is still comfortable. I prefer the AC controls on the yukon and it has power driver and passenger seats. The yukon also has Autoride suspension. Other than that...- dcarver

Spark Plug gap 8.1 Vortec
About the change the plugs on my 02 8.1 yukon xl 2500. The new plugs come pregapped to .054. Stock for the truck is .060 but I've heard dropping down to .045 makes a big factor in performance although its stock. Any thoughts?- dcarver

Deciding on towing upgrades.
The trans is stock but I keep and eye on the tranny temp and it never gets over 190 when towing up long grades. Deciding on towing upgrades.
So i've been trying to decide what to throw my money in to for endancing my 03 suburban's towing performance. It has 120k 5.3 and 3.73 rear end LT 245/75/17s. I've been kicking around the idea of upgrading to 4.10s since a local shop can get me out the door for $750. But i'm unsure of the gains...- dcarver

Swapping a bench seat for captains chairs?
Tahoes could be had with/without 3rd row. Usually the base models didn't come with it. As far as changing to a bench seat, a pick and pull is your best bet. The brackets and what not are different since the bench and captains chairs fold differently. You'll probably have to drill into floor but... -

Gas Capacity and Mileage
Should be 25-26 gallon tank. My tahoe did the same thing when filling up. When the gauge showed E I could only get 20-21 gallons in it but if I put the gas lever on the slowest setting then it would put 25 in. In the tahoe I would get 14 city/19 hwy. New look

I may just do the center console then with green stitching and then two tone seats. My door handles are just the black plastic ones. Can those be sanded then color matched or should I find some at a junk yard that are color matched to that car and sand them then color match them to my car?- dcarver

11 yr old fuel filter!
So went for my first oil change since buying by 03 burb and come to find out it still had the original fuel filter! There was some pretty funky stuff left in there. Power driver's seat doesn't go back as far
ya it's in the manual. Wife has the car right now but IIRC you start in park and press down either both the 1&2 seat buttons until you hear a beep or just one at a time until a beep to clear it. The easy exit is accessed by the (i) button on your steering wheel the holding the back/erase button... -

My wife's rainier did this a couple of times. Have you tried resetting the memory seats and erasing the current settings? For some reason this worked for us as well as turning off the easy exit setting by using the steering wheel control. IDK if you've tried this or not but like I said it worked...
