Thanks Rocket, the aluminum radiator i was privileged to didn't work out ATM. The core dimensions were a few inches too short. I would have had to ditch the OE electric fans for aftermarket fans and shroud.
Added to the memory bank. I still plan to do the aluminum mod one day.
haha yes...
Thanks guys! Happy to report today that after 220k+ of service our Tahoe's radiator has called it quits. No over heating, the sound of the fans caught my attention as I arrived home. The temps were just moving past 210 on the gauge.
time for an al-u-mi-ni-um upgrade.
haha. When we bought the truck almost a decade ago, gas prices were HIGH(er) in CA, $120-150 a tank from Honda $45 was a jump for sure. Hence the SN and avatar.
I'm no photographer, nor editor extraordinaire but I've been inspired lately to post "better" images and decided to try some editing...
Don't get to drive the Tahoe much (as it's "hers"), but my wife needed me to drive her to the hospital. While I was out "parking the car," I snuck off to snap these. Don't judge me, lol.
Oh man, side by side, those molding are hideous. I'd normally say I'm an oe type of equipment fella but that's a huge visual update.
what? a gran natty is not important? blasphemy! haha send to CA!

Out of habit I read threads like a japanese magazine, backwards, from end to the beginning. I appreciate what it took to get there, I like seeing what we endure to make the clock tick w/out skipping a beat. I must say in the last 3pgs, All you men have made me tear up at my computer on a Sunday...

Sound system is nuts.....I'm deaf just from the video.
If you were in CA, I'd mention that I know a guy. I've seem him teardown & rebuild a ford motor overnight. By the time I returned in the morning it was back in the car running and ready to ship.
I was too deep in the reply I forgot the brand ahaha, method race NV
It sure is man. Can't stand it sometimes. I'm the guy that hates being hot. Go figure.
Thanks Tony. So do we, the KMC's were such a classic clean look for us; it was hard to picture changing wheels up, but afterwards my...
Yes it is man. I truly believe when I find my classic retirement car it will be sitting out that way. He also has a GSX 'vert yellow w/black stripes.
Story of our lives, "the epic parts stash." Looking forward to see them all take shape.

"The 1999 trucks (GMC or Chevrolet) dont have the option to self disable or even enter the mode. The option was added in the 2000 model year. To disable (only disable - not set any other way.) you have to go to the dealer and have them reprogram your BCM (Body control module). Its under Gm...

Hahaha Thanks silver.
That's one scary pic right? My wife an I had walked down the street to eat; so returning to see that, on a slope....wooo. I thought to myself man these guys are nuts, but they do it day in day out; better them than I.
