Ceramic vs. Stainless
one experience I know of on pacesetter ceramic is a buddy of mine who got them brand new out of the box and could chip it off with his thumb nail.. so im not sure on the quality of their product. they fit fine and sounded good but paying extra for ceramic u want it to stick always- buzzsaw714

Why do you not want to wrap them? I live in texas and have had mine on for 4 years. Checked them just 6 months ago and nothing is rusting. It keeps your engine bay heat down, increases the performance, and protects wires from melting.. Well worth the money in the long run. If I could go back in...- buzzsaw714

Time for an upgrade...NBS Tahoe, Avalanche, or Silverado??

Help... Looking to purchase 04 Tahoe z71 tomorrow
middle bench wont fit in back, theres 2 side by side seats that go together to make 3rd row. uhhh 137k miles on a 5.3 you never know.. the engine is prob fine but everything else is what scares me.. if I were you I would buy based on cosmetics b/c these things are so easy to fix. are the seats...- buzzsaw714

Lifter Tapping on cold start up FIXED!
Put about 1/3 of a quart of Marvel Mystery Oil in my crank and drove it hard like I always do. This morning on cold start up it was completely gone. Reduced Engine power, Check Engine.. and other errors...
The only times I had "reduce engine power" and lose all throttle response was right after my custom tune. I had to reset the timing and have a few things tweeked before it stopped doing it. i'd start there- buzzsaw714

Muffler/ Catback recomendations
ive had flowmaster 40, magnaflow, straight pipe after cats, knockoff flowmaster, knockoff flowmaster with a hole plasma cut into it, and MBRP catback all on my 5.3 in the past 2 years.. -ve +ve two negative charges + (pop out lighter/12volts) = 43... Take 43 + ((5.3L(2003gmc)/(3.73)) = mc^2 + government motors 2wd mod + Gatorade[arctic blue] = blow fuse OMG ITS A BLOW FUSE! I FIGURED IT OUT GUYS now thats a mystery solved- buzzsaw714

2000 Tahoe 5.3L Bad Ping
I know my 5.3 is tuned and the timing is increased quite a bit... they have a false knock that kicks in at higher rpms in the 2nd and 3rd gears. if your engine knocked you would know it... im not sure though its hard to diagnose over the internet- buzzsaw714

Who has the highest miles thread.
my 03 5.3 has 410k on it. original tranny and engine. all i did was change the oil, tran fluid, brakes, axle bearings, plugs wires, and put a bullydog performance tune on it at about 200k. runs like new- buzzsaw714
