Axel seals / transfer case servo

Another question or two or four: 1. What do you think about replacing the bearings along with the axle seals(135000 miles)? 2. Timken has a kit which includes everything. 3. Besides the anerobic sealant will I need any fluids? 4. how about any special tools? Thanks

Axel seals / transfer case servo

What is Anerobic sealer? Since I will have the axles apart, would it be a good time to replace CV boots and bearings? TIMKEN makes a kit with the bearings and seals, or it looks like I can purchase the seals individually. Todd

Axel seals / transfer case servo

Does anyone have a write up on how to replace the front axel seals or a write up on a servo, which is giving me the "service 4wd" message. I have had the same problem three previous times, each of which cost me >$600.00. Also, if anyone has a part number for the servo I would appreciate it...

    Side mirrors

Thank you. That makes all the sense in the world now. It actually worked this morning; there was a heavy frost, I turned on the rear defroster and watched as my mirrors cleared up. :Handshake: Now, to get my replacement mirror.

    Side mirrors

I have a self dimming, turn signal integrated, power folding driver side mirror with puddle light on my 04 Yukon XL SLT. I have been searching for a replacement glass/ entire assembly. The salvage yards which are contacting me say I should have heated mirrors also. If turning heated mirrors is...

    I installed E-fans on my 2001

May I ask what electric fans do for your vehicle? Why do some vehicles come from the factory with them and others do not? Thanks

    "service 4wd"

I am reading past forums on this, and the switch keeps coming up. Like I said the past two times, I was told a servo was replaced, hence the $600.00 + price tag. If all I needed was a switch I will be really upset. I am having the codes read tomorrow and will go from there. Thanks for the info.

    "service 4wd"

I am getting a "SERVICE 4WD" message on my display. I have had this problem twice int he past; both times the repair was $600.00 +. What happens is I am unable to go into 4wd or any of the variants available, or the vehicle will stay in what ever mode I was in at the time. I have a 2004 Yukon...

    A/C Not blowing

Finished If you have followed this thread at all, you know I had replaced the blower motor at a cost of $132.00, I found the control module online at OEHQ.com INFORMATION: (1 Heater-blower-air Conditioning Control Module ACD 15-80567 $49.61) I also had to replace the 40 amp fuse under the...

    A/C Not blowing

I finally had the money/ time to swap out the blower motor. Unfortunately that was not the problem. Or if it was a problem there are more. There were two wires which led from a module to the fan motor; there are three wires which lead into the module. Does anyone know what this module is, and...

    A/C Not blowing

I broke down and took my Yukon to the dealer. They want over $800.00 to fix my A/C they said the blower motor is bad as well as the blower control module. The connector apparently was burnt, so they said either the blower control module went taking the motor with it or vice versa. I found...

    fuses

I did find the fuse for the trailer, it was under the hood. It was a 15amp. I still have not figured out if the cigarette lighter has it's own fuse. It is either dead or has its own, since nothing else is out now.

    fuses

I hope this is the correct area. Does anyone know where the fuse is to the trailer connector? How a bout the lighter in the center console? My power connector on the right is working but the regular lighter is not working. I plugged a power inverter into it, It no longer works. All my other...

    Steering wheel shimmy

I have not checked the alignment. I have not noticed a change in my tire wear. If I have to replace anything on the front end I figure I would have to have an alignment at that point anyway.

    Steering wheel shimmy

I am starting to notice a shimmy in my steering wheel, I have a 04 Yukon XL 1500 4wd with over 100k miles. The tires are just one size up from stock with no lift kit or body lift. Any suggestions as to what to check, how to check, and opinions on a steering stabilizer? Thanks Todd

    A/C Not blowing

My 04 Yukon XL has the automatic climate control. I can feel cold air at the vents, but the fan does not change speed, whether it is manually changed or on auto. Sitting still you can just feel the air at the vent , but at highway speed it is being forced out. The rear a/c is working fine, I...

    Heated seats

Apparently most of the money comes from labor. I will see what it costs for the elements. Could I disconnect one seat or the other just to eliminate one or the other. Where would I do this and would it affect the operation of the other electrical features of the seat. Heated seats early in...
