I don't think you're going to be able to fix that shift point. As far as I understand, that is the only shift point because the Hybrid runs a CVT... have you noticed that on a longer acceleration like getting on the highway, it does not shift once you are rolling?
I was told there is a CVT...
Its been a while, but I've been working on getting more information out of my Hy Ho.
I got a cheap bluetooth OBD-II adapter from Amazon and bought the Torque App for my android phone and started digging for Custom PIDs to pull data out of the truck about what the battery and electric motors...
In all fairness, it was about 10 minutes til 8pm close, I had just been stranded in an empty parking lot for 30 minutes and wasnt really feeling like dealing with getting a rental or sitting around a waiting room for another 2 hours. That and they've known me since I've had my first car (uncle...
I wish there was more documentation out there on self servicing Hybrid components. It seems very easy with all the OBD tools, etc...as long as you follow the "Dont touch anything orange" rule of thumb.
I have my scanner running all the time I'm in the car monitoring the electric, gas and pedal...
I've been watching a few live parameters with the OBD-II scanner (link...this is an awesome tool..turns my EVO 4G into a super dashboard...mmm...more data)
Mostly watching throttle controls and I haven't quite figured out what they all mean but its been running like a champ.
Good idea on...
Wondering if anybody else has had any kind of engine troubles with their Hybrid?
Mines got about 44,000 miles and yesterday I started it up at the gas station and the electric motors revved up to what sounded like full throttle, then the system threw error codes galore. (My bluetooth OBD-II...
I thought about doing this also after I bought my Hybrid and just looked through a parts catalog comparing liftgate parts between LTZ and Hybrid.
I assumed I would swap like parts like weatherstrip and wiper. But because of the different weights of the door, all the bracketry needs to be...
Does the Yukon Denali Hybrid have a power liftgate?? I thought they pulled that option from all the hybrids in the name of weight saving..maybe the Denali is different. I know that my '09 Tahoe doesnt have a power lift.
Anyway, sounds like a warranty issue to me. I'd just drop it off at the...
I remember reading about this a long time ago and now that I've got a Hybrid of my own..I can't help but want to try it!
http://green.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/12/23/prius-its-not-just-a-car-its-an-emergency-generator/
The general idea is to plug the hybrid into your house, not to charge the...
Since this thread is lacking actual tips for being on page whatever....
I used to have a Hummer that I installed an on-board air system into. (When I was 22 years old..if that makes a difference. :)) While I didn't have a train horn, I installed a fire truck horn..a Grover 1510 stuttertone...
Nearly the entire rotor except for the direct contact points were flaking. It was very rusted along the outer rim but I also pulled a flake off the rear surface of the rotor. There also were rusted gouges along the contact area of the rotor and its driven daily.
I got a Certified Used 2009 Tahoe Hybrid back in April from a local dealer.
The longer I own it, the more suspicious I am becoming of this dealer.
1) They gave me 2 broken headsets for the rear DVD and kept the remote.
2) The tires were 100% bald and blistering.
3) The wiper motor had to...
It probably does help with traction but if its dry and clear, I usually leave it in 2wd. The front is heavy enough that it should maneuver pretty good on dry pavement.
That's what I though too but I got 19.8 on the highway also in auto. But for giggles I put it in 2wd and mpg bumped up to 21.5ish!
I think there is some parasitic loss in the transfer case during auto mode.
I am about ready to upgrade my wheels and tires..was going to do 24 but realized it costs about an extra thousand for those extra 2" and would rather do 22's + a drop kit.
I'm thinking about the Gianelle Fiji (link) or Gianelle Tropez (link) but I'm having a hard time finding a decent vendor...
Its starting to warm up now (70's)..was chilly when I first started driving it (30's in the AM and 50's in the afternoons). Wish I took more real numbers back then to compare to.
I was thinking more about how the air density would hurt the MPG. Since cold air is more dense, the gas engine...
I did some playing around and found that at 70mph, mpg is about 17-18mpg on a flat road and the hybrid menu says there is no hybrid input..but speed up to 76mph and itll drop to 4-cyl + hybrid and get back into the 24mpg range...I think its geared for "real" highway speeds instead of posted...
Mmm..data. Love some good stats.
I've got a 2009 Hybrid Tahoe...all stock...with bald original tires!
About 36,000 on the odometer.
Using regular gas in Michigan.
At 55 mph (cruise control) on a flat road, I get 29 instant mpg.
At 60 mph (cruise control) on a flat road, I get 26 instant mpg...
very nice mods!!
Except you are beating me to being 1st at all the good ones while I'm still working on saving up for some 24" black gianelles (shameless plug for anybody willing to get me a deal on those..pleaaaase.)
However to tide me over..I'm very close to just biting the bullet and...
yyyup! Even though you said HIDs werent that big on your list, using the halos instead of the DRLs makes it stand out a little..i think...at the price of being a little riced out..
Wait..yours are LED?! Mine are totally not! I noticed that and was surprised that there really are no LEDs on mine...which is odd for a machine that is trying to save every amp.
What about putting some halos/angel eyes on there??

Anybody know...
I've got a stock '09 Hy Ho (6.0L) and love it! Very happy and sure it was the right choice.
One thing I miss is no back seat bucket seats because that's where the battery bank is. I also miss the power liftgate. I have a feeling those will come back when/if they switch to LiPo batteries...
On mine, that would cut factory suspension travel in half! We might be on to something...
If I were you, I'd measure from bumpstop to axel stock...install the kit as-is...measure again...drive it...if it sucks, then start hacking by shaving off a quarter inch at a time from the bump stops and...
