Just curious.. I haven't seen anything available for the 8.25 IFS front we have in the Tahoe's.. found ARB and Eaton for the rear 10 bolt..

I have one in my OBS, but I also run a 14 bolt SF axle. What are you trying to get out of it?

Well it's my wife's daily driver... And I want her to have good control if she was to ever be stuck anywhere.. I ran a shaved 14 bolt on TJ rock crawler.. I have the new Mopar Ultimate 60's for my JK Unlimited... I wanna lift her tahoe as well but the options are so horrible and expensive.. I can SAS the front for less and ditch the dumb IFS... still not sure yet.. If I do it I'll swap both to AAM from a dodge.. Only wanna run 35's maybe 37's

I personally like detroit lockers but a friend of mine runs a spartan in his XJ and pounds it mercifully. For the price the spartan is decent. The IFS in these trucks aren't to terrible with 33s or less. Once you hit 35s though all the componets like to fail prematurely regardless of how well you maintain them.

I agree... If I do an SAS swap I'll use Eaton E Lockers.. Not sure they do make one for the 8.5 rear but nothing for the front.. still not sure what I wanna do..

they dont make a locker or limited slip for the 8.25 because it is a very weak front diff because of the aluminum it is made out of. I sas'd my 94 k1500 with a spartan in d44 front and grizzly locker in the 14 bolt rear it is unstoppable in anything. So i use the tahoe for most driving and take the truck for anything that seems impossible. It is very reassuring knowing that i have true 4x4 when needed though.

Totally agree.. I want her to have the ability to hit a switch and know all 4 are gunna spin to get her out of anything..

then the only good option is sas or highly modified ifs.

SAS then , unless your building a competition rig a "modified IFS for these trucks is outrageous . Just the axle assemblies alone cost $600 a piece . Then you have to sleeve your tie rod ends or make custom ones buy a new pumpkin thats not aluminum ect... by the time you run up the numbers your above SAS money.

This thread helped me realize my front diff is shit. Thanks. At least I know a locker in the front is not an option. I did have a TJ Wrangler with an open front and Auburn ECTED rear. One of the only rear diffs that are limited slip when off and with the flip of a switch completely lock the rear. I tried hard to get that Jeep stuck, but couldn't. I'm thinking about one of these for the Yuk.
