missfire

A buddy of mine has a 02 Taho and had a cylinder 8 miss fire, changed coil and no change.
It ended up being the injector harness. it wasn't getting connection all the time at the coil plug. maybe try tightening up the plug connectors first go from there.
the harness was $5 at the wrecking yard. cheep fix, hard to track it down !!!

I moved the coil and spark plug to #6 last weekend no change for whatever reason I forgot to move the spark plug wire. do I need to just plug the coil harness into 6 and 8 and 8 into 6 or cut and splice it? I may just change it out with a new one anyways since its mentioned. also let me explain a thought I had today, since the lights solid at idle and blinks under accel, obviously the engines not getting something under load worse than at idle, I don't think it is spark since it only gets faster, I don't think its air since I have a boost guage and I watch the pressure go up and down so I would reason it to be fuel. it sat for MONTHS so I'm going to change the fuel filter. does anyone think this could casue a misfire from fuel starving it

Not sure what you are talking about regarding cutting and splicing.

Also a flashing Check engine light only means that the issue affecting emissions is now at a point that could cause irreversible damage to your catalytic converters. That's all it means.

The coil wire. The thick wire from the coil to the plug itself.
You sure you have a 5.3L GMT800 and not a GMT400? Our trucks don't have cap and rotor assemblies...

ill change it now. and for the distributor ii really have no idea It was just a shot in the dark wasn't sure if it had one or not. I did however just see a nice mystery gift, I was changing the fuel filter aand noticed a little box, it says fuel injector system its a electronic box from whipple I suppose it adjusts the pressure or maybe the injectors themselves I'm slowly leaning towards that nice expesive looking box maybe messing up the injectors ill have to call whipple and see what it even does
