I had to argue to get to $200. They wanted $800 the first time and $700 the second time....
Sorry but if I can expect to need to replace $200 tail lights (let alone $700) every 40k miles there's a problem and it has nothing to do with how much my money is worth to me.
Principle. GMC charged me...
You got to be kidding me this car has 40,000 miles on it! 40,000! and I've had $1400 worth of tail lights go out???!?!.
For comparison:
I drive an 2005 Silverado it's been to the dealer exactly zero times since I drove it off the lot - 140k miles ago.
This Yukon has been to the dealer 6 times...
Part number K2UGLH
See attached
I shared my discontent with the Dealer and he offered to for x it for $200.
So I need to find the guy that can sell me just the part - I can fix a Taillight just need the part.
Anyone got a line on this?
just ran through several pages in this forum (Exterior) - no one has posted about prematurely failing Tail lights. I would be REALLY impressed if I was the first one to have this happen not once but twice....
Let me know if I am in fact the only one and I'll shut up and buy a mercedes.
Pretty sure the esky light install.... is someone replacing failed Yukon Taillights... dealer charges $700.00 per tail light and they apparently fail at around the 1.5 to 2 yrs mark. spread the word... these aren't covered once your warranty goes out. People are going to get screwed on this - it...
Be a good son.......... and buy your dad soem replacement rear taillights. They go out after about 1.5 to 2 yrs and cost $700 a piece at the dealership. Ask me how I know..... we just had our second tail light go out. No explanantion from the dealer just oh you need this part.... it's $700.
I...
Save your money for replacement tail lights - those burn out after roughly 1.5 to 2 yrs and cost $700 a piece from the dealer. It's not if they burn it's when. We just burned our second one out at ~2.2 yrs of ownership.
I was amazed that the first tail light went out in under two yrs of owner ship. I was MORE amazed that the replacement cost was $700 quoted from Pearson GMC in Sunnyvale, CA. It was covered under warranty at that time but the warraty has since expired and sure enough..... the other tail light...
Just put a new set of tires on 22s with inserts *see profile pic
Rides ever so slightly better as we went with thew goodyears (since the bridgestones didn't last more than 37k miles)..........
If I had it to do over again I would have gone with the 20s or even the 18s. *the ride on 22s is not...
Oh almost forgot the right rear Taillight went out.... just before the warranty (thank gawd).
THOSE SUCKERS ARE $700.00 at the dealer!!!!! (I could not find one cheaper anywhere else).
WHO THE FK DESIGNS A $700 tail light (Thats $1400 for both left and right BTW) on a TRUCK???????
the most...
Should mentioned there is only 37k miles on the truck (it's not been the happiest miles burned either)
- have had to have the 22in rims balanced and rebalanced to fix a shaking at hwy speed (is that normal? none of my other cars needed this much attention)
- folding middle seat back collapsed...
