My 03 Tahoe is getting kinda rusty, so I went to Texas and bought a replacement, an 04 LS. I transferred the DJM 3/5" suspension, big brakes, PPV wheels, and front air dam. Factory radio issue
2004 Tahoe LS, UB1 Radio, AM/FM, Cassette, CD, Bose, UK6 Radio Control, rear seat & earphone jacks and UQ7 Speaker System, Premium Performance, Bose. Radio has worked well until a week ago. Bad gauge cluster draining battery
Just keeps getting odder... after a week of dead gauges, everything came back when I started it this morning. What the heck? Started it again this afternoon and the gauges came on then went off repeatedly for 1-2 minutes before deciding to stay on for the rest of the day. ??? -

Rock Auto actually has a disclaimer "returned cores must be exactly the same" and "no junkyard parts accepted" (how would they know?) One thing I don't remember seeing mentioned in this thread. When I lowered my Tahoe last summer (see post #162), my truck developed a transmission fluid leak at slip yoke. The lowering process forces the slip yoke deeper onto the tailshaft (driveshaft moves forward). If you live in the rust...- tooeasy

Power Stop OEM style kits, Front KCOE-2069; Rear KCOE-2047. Upgraded the front pads from the OEM Z16 style to Z23 Evolution Sport. I took a few minutes to paint the calipers red (they come silver). Previous best on a similar (mostly freeway) trip was 16.8 mpg. That was before adding the air dam extension, but I would think the lowering (3/5") would be responsible for most of the improvement.- tooeasy

First road trip since lowering project today... ride is quite comfortable and handling is excellent. 330 miles, almost all freeway, cruise set at 80, 17.6 mpg (stock 5.3). Love driving this Tahoe!- tooeasy
