Bad gauge cluster draining battery
Just keeps getting odder... after a week of dead gauges, everything came back when I started it this morning. What the heck? Started it again this afternoon and the gauges came on then went off repeatedly for 1-2 minutes before deciding to stay on for the rest of the day. ??? -

Rock Auto actually has a disclaimer "returned cores must be exactly the same" and "no junkyard parts accepted" (how would they know?) One thing I don't remember seeing mentioned in this thread. When I lowered my Tahoe last summer (see post #162), my truck developed a transmission fluid leak at slip yoke. Power Stop OEM style kits, Front KCOE-2069; Rear KCOE-2047. Upgraded the front pads from the OEM Z16 style to Z23 Evolution Sport. I took a few minutes to paint the calipers red (they come silver). Previous best on a similar (mostly freeway) trip was 16.8 mpg. That was before adding the air dam extension, but I would think the lowering (3/5") would be responsible for most of the improvement.- tooeasy

First road trip since lowering project today... ride is quite comfortable and handling is excellent. 330 miles, almost all freeway, cruise set at 80, 17.6 mpg (stock 5.3). Love driving this Tahoe!- tooeasy

Honestly, a $100 bill would be a bargain for one wheel. If someone is offering to do four for that, run away! Proper OEM quality refinish using epoxy primer, basecoat color and acrylic urethane clear would total about $180 alone, plus any primer surfacer or filler required on the deeper... -
DJM Control Arms!!
I'm having the same problem with the DJM 3" LCAs that I just installed on my 2003 Tahoe LS SSV 2WD. After installing the arms the truck didn't drop at all initially, but during a short test drive I could actually feel it drop, but it only dropped about 1 - 1/2". I drove it a few more miles but...- tooeasy

Blasted and painted my 2015-17 style PPV wheels. Had already done a set of 2005-06 16-inchers but decided to do the NNBS brake mod, so the 16"s won't work. New ones are 17x8" so I can go with a bigger tire as well, old ones are 16x6.5"- tooeasy
