What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

My 03 Tahoe is getting kinda rusty, so I went to Texas and bought a replacement, an 04 LS. I transferred the DJM 3/5" suspension, big brakes, PPV wheels, and front air dam. Debadged it, buffed the paint and installed new lights and LED interior bulbs. Gonna keep the running boards on for...

    Factory radio issue

2004 Tahoe LS, UB1 Radio, AM/FM, Cassette, CD, Bose, UK6 Radio Control, rear seat & earphone jacks and UQ7 Speaker System, Premium Performance, Bose. Radio has worked well until a week ago. Now there's no sound from the radio most days when starting the truck, but it usually starts playing...

    Bad gauge cluster draining battery

Just keeps getting odder... after a week of dead gauges, everything came back when I started it this morning. What the heck? Started it again this afternoon and the gauges came on then went off repeatedly for 1-2 minutes before deciding to stay on for the rest of the day. ???

    Bad gauge cluster draining battery

2003 Tahoe LS. All gauges (Including speedo and tach) were dead on start up on Saturday, Jan 4, 2019. PRNDSL was also flickering rapidly. Drove truck for about 8 miles, it sat for an hour, all gauges worked normally for return trip. Checked the fuse for IPC/DIC, it was okay, but installed a new...

07+ Brake upgrade on a 00-06 NBS, is it worth it?

Rock Auto actually has a disclaimer "returned cores must be exactly the same" and "no junkyard parts accepted" (how would they know?) (I just tried to bring up their site to get the exact wording but it's down.) Didn't want to take a chance that they'd refuse them. Plus, just didn't want the...

Official 00-06 Tahoe/Yukon/Escalade drop guide with pics...

One thing I don't remember seeing mentioned in this thread. When I lowered my Tahoe last summer (see post #162), my truck developed a transmission fluid leak at slip yoke. The lowering process forces the slip yoke deeper onto the tailshaft (driveshaft moves forward). If you live in the rust...

07+ Brake upgrade on a 00-06 NBS, is it worth it?

Power Stop OEM style kits, Front KCOE-2069; Rear KCOE-2047. Upgraded the front pads from the OEM Z16 style to Z23 Evolution Sport. I took a few minutes to paint the calipers red (they come silver). I had planned to install stainless hoses but the steel lines are so crusty from Michigan rust...

Ditto what Fosscore said! I'll bet your Dad had had a great day as well. Cherish those times, they don't come often enough!

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Previous best on a similar (mostly freeway) trip was 16.8 mpg. That was before adding the air dam extension, but I would think the lowering (3/5") would be responsible for most of the improvement.

First road trip since lowering project today... ride is quite comfortable and handling is excellent. 330 miles, almost all freeway, cruise set at 80, 17.6 mpg (stock 5.3). Love driving this Tahoe!

    Black rims

Honestly, a $100 bill would be a bargain for one wheel. If someone is offering to do four for that, run away! Proper OEM quality refinish using epoxy primer, basecoat color and acrylic urethane clear would total about $180 alone, plus any primer surfacer or filler required on the deeper...

    DJM Control Arms!!

I'm having the same problem with the DJM 3" LCAs that I just installed on my 2003 Tahoe LS SSV 2WD. After installing the arms the truck didn't drop at all initially, but during a short test drive I could actually feel it drop, but it only dropped about 1 - 1/2". I drove it a few more miles but...

    Tonyrodz's Tahoe Build Thread

RPO Code X88 is Chevrolet Nameplate Conversion, perhaps to differentiate from GMC? I found a New Jersey Purchase Bureau purchase order online for a 2006 PPV that shows: RDM New Jersey Cost Surcharge *Required on all vehicles to be registered in New Jersey* MSRP $0.00 FWIW, It also shows R8Q as...

Blasted and painted my 2015-17 style PPV wheels. Had already done a set of 2005-06 16-inchers but decided to do the NNBS brake mod, so the 16"s won't work. New ones are 17x8" so I can go with a bigger tire as well, old ones are 16x6.5"
