    Mine measured 180amps at idle and 190 right off idle..working great so far.i don't recall removing the rear support bracket, but it has been awhile since I installed it.cant remember how many pins the connector had either, but I do know it plugged in without replacing/switching the connector.

    I had the durastops on my truck back in the day.they were alright.if you're going to spend the $ for premium friction material I'd recommend hawk pads.they are excellent

    You can use an ad244 145amp out of a newer tahoe( '03) they put out close to 200 amps at idle and fit in the existing mounting bracket.you will need a slightly longer serpentine belt to accommodate the larger alternator though

    cool.hoping its just an oil issue.i replaced the tensioner a few months ago, although they are huge pieces of crap, wouldnt surprise me if it was on its way out already.ill check on it in the morning.i didnt notice any excessive slop in the belt, and there hasnt been any chirping/sqeaking...
