I have the Focal 165A1 SG's (component) in my front doors & the Focal 130CA1 SG's in the rear doors. Each speaker is driven off one of the 4 main channels of a JL XD700/5 amplifier. All doors have a layer of Hushmat covering 90% of their surface areas. While the Focal's are "crisp," they are...
There are a number of different possibilities ... if it's consistent at nearly any RPM there's a good chance it could be either of what you mentioned (alternator and/or PS pump).
I'd slip your belt off and run the engine momentarily to see if the noise goes away - or changes pitch perhaps...
I have the same year, make, and model and have thought to myself the same thing. In my opinion, mine is not bothersome enough (yet) to replace it or dig further into it. I did however find some instructions from all data that I believe are verbatim to what a GM Tech would see (possibly?)...
Replace both the Bose speakers and Bose amplifier. The stock Bose speakers (and amp) have oddball proprietary specs such as resistances for example. If you're seeking a better sound, replace it all. Mixing and matching OEM and aftermarket will just create more frustration than the Bose already...
Apologize for the random bump, but I'm running into a eerily similar situation with my 2006 Tahoe's rear defrost. Did a new spade work for you? Curious to hear what worked/suggestions. Thanks!

Do the 5.3L from 2006 have replaceable PCV and/or EGR valves (or at least with auto store parts replaceable)? I've read mixed things and am hoping someone may have a definitive answer. Thanks!
Axxcess and Metra are owned by the same company so the first two items you listed are the same.
I have an 06 Tahoe with Bose, OnStar, and RSE (no Nav) ... I tried the GMOS-100 and it was a disaster. It was glitch infected and even Crutchfield admitted that they have had a lot of customers...
I bought mine from amazon.com as they had the cheapest price I could find for the pair. They were $245.97 for the pair when I bought them. They are KSource part #: 62075-76G (pair)
