I have an '06 Denali XL with 149k . Only drivetrain issue I've encountered was a burned up torque converter clutch solenoid causing a check engine light and harder than normal shift from 1st - 2nd when the tranny temp hit 200 degrees. $400 later, she's as good as new and temp doesn't go over 180...
Sounds like a bad solenoid on the valve body maybe. I had a similar issue recently which resulted in a burned solenoid. Other possibility could be a torque converter issue.
Check your coolant level as well. It's possible you may have a vapor lock ( trapped air bubble) in the system somewhere or a possible slow coolant leak... ( check around your water pump ) Any coolant smells after driving ? After you stop driving and come to a stop / idle, your coolant may not be...
Typically if your CAT is bad, you'll get a P0420 code for catalyst threshold below spec. Sounds like you have a bad throttle body and possibly a bad O2 sensor as well. Misfire code could be caused by throttle body issue or severely fouled plugs if you've never had a tune up. One or more...
Sounds like a possible shift solenoid or gearing / clutch issue maybe.... Any check engine light ?? I just had an issue resolved with a hard shift from 1-2 at 200 deg. trans temp. Turned out to be a torque converter clutch solenoid had burned up. Easy fix... Have a tranny specialist check it...
Well after 2 trips to the dealer, they claimed that they were unable to pinpoint the problem after dropping the pan and inspecting the valve body and all accompanying parts even though they were able to duplicate the concern. Their recommendation was to remove the entire unit and do a partial...
Fluid level is good and still red in color as it was serviced @ about 85k mi. Coming back from the lake yesterday, the check engine light came on. Had the codes pulled this morning with a hand-held scanner and a single code came up as P0894 which is a tranny 'slip' code from what I've read so...
I have '06 Yukon Denali with the 6.0L . Started having an issue yesterday after about 80 miles of driving of a harder than usual shift from 1st to 2nd gear when accelerating from a complete stop. It did this several times after stopping and going. However, when I shut the truck off and restart...
Could be tie rods or quite possibly a steering shaft. Every other tahoe, yukon, silverado, and sierra from '06 and back experience this at one time or another. What's your mileage ?
Well, just when I thought everything was getting back to normal, guess what..?? The compressor died this morning! :favorites68: Cranked the truck up, compressor comes on for all of about 1 second and makes a clicking sound and stopped. Cranked 2 times since and still nothing. Guess I'll be...
Strangely enough, after I go out to inspect and try to locate the exact location of the supposive leak, I crank the truck up and everything is running normally again...WTH?? Started several times and the compressor is running only 5-7 seconds again like nothing is wrong. Had the system scanned...
Thanks OSHIXX.. I looked at those reman shocks on their website. Think they're like 379.00. Then I noticed the new Bilstein for $20 more. I'm a little weiry on reman stuff as I've bad luck with it in the past, however they do warranty them. I thought about the soapy water trick and plan on doing...
On any given day, the air ride suspension in my Denali would normally pump for about 5-8 seconds at start up....no problem... Well, after towing the boat last week on a 20 mile round trip to the lake, the compressor now runs for 2 MINUTES on start up!! After a day or two, it's still doing the...
6k lbs. isn't TOO much for the tahoe as that truck is rated for about 7700 depending on what rear end you've got, but when you involve mountainous terrain, it does make that tranny work a lot harder, even in tow mode and wears it out quicker. I pulled my 3700 lb. boat with an 04 Z71 down an...
Typically, the alternator will not whine unless the bearing in the pulley is bad. Same thing with the AC compressor pulley. Other possibility is the power steering pump. Are you only hearing the noise on accelerating and decelerating or do you also hear it at idle ?
