That's great to know, Byron. I have an identical truck and I've debated going to an E-fan. My family and I are thinking of getting another camper next year and I want to prep the Yukon for it beforehand.
How are the 3.73's with towing that camper? I looked up the specs on it because that's...
When you say "unplugging it", are you literally just unplugging the connector to the o2 sensor? Wouldn't that throw the readings off and cause the CEL to come on? I'm just curious, because I don't want to keep throwing money at this via the guessing game and I want to figure this out ASAP.
I...
I had the same issue with mine when I would unlock it with the key FOB. Both of my mirrors would go nuts and peg out to the point the gears would max out and start clicking really loud. I thought I would eventually have to replace the mirrors.
I read somewhere that if you unplugged the mirrors...
Alright - reporting back since running out to Advance Auto Parts on my lunch break yesterday....
Bought the BWD brand FPR. Swapped it out right there in the parking lot in 5 mins. Fitment is great, no leaks, NO NOISES. Didn't have my fuel pressure gauge with me and didn't have time when I got...
I haven't, but I will on my lunch break. There's an Advance Auto and AutoZone right down the street from my work and I figure $65 for the BWD won't hurt to troubleshoot again anyway. Here's to hoping!
AHHH! I found a YouTube video of my EXACT same symptom. This is on a 5.3 Tahoe though...SKIP TO 0:30 to hear the sound.
It seems that people are reporting back with this symptom being AC Delco and Delphi brand related. The BWD brand from AutoZone/Advance Auto seem to work better for our...
Filled up with 93 and added 2 different Fuel injector cleaners to this last tank. So far, nothing has changed.
I've been digging around online and saw that some 04+ 2500HD's came with a FPR similar to ours, but had a little T10H torx screw on the body of the regulator to adjust fuel pressure...
Sorry, I should have specified. 4.10's are the better gears for towing regardless of 6.0 or 8.1 motor, but the 8.1 with 3.73's is a great combo for what you say you'd need. If the 8.1 is in great shape and a good price, I'd buy it with 3.73's. Those things are tow beasts.
As far as trying to...
That's the weird part...she pulls hard as ever with no stumble or power decrease. It's just when sitting in Park and idling and when in Drive sitting at red lights. I'm going to try and take a good video of it to better explain my symptoms. Hearing the audible "strain/whine" sound is hard to...
I'd say go with a 2500 with 4.10 gears. That puts you at 9600 lbs and should be more than enough for a decent size travel trailer. I have 3.73's and I'm most likely going with 4.10's and larger trans cooler in the future for peace of mind.
