Guys, I'm confused. I'd like to redo the exhaust on my '03 Yukon. It is a 5.3L with 4WD. I don't need the larger tubes as I have no plans to boost power all that much. Probably a mild to moderate cam and maybe a little higher stall converter. I do tow a polaris around occasionally and saw a converter that still locks up for towing and MPG if you keep your foot out of it.

My questions are this:

-Is there a complete kit that all fits together correctly, or will I have to piece it together?

-I keep hearing folks talk about having to modify their exhaust for 4WD models. Is there not a good system that actually bolts in to the 4WD's?

-If I have to buy pieces, are there parts that will actually bolt together, or will we have to modify again?

-Is there a kit or parts list that is all mandrel bent for best flow?

Any help is appreciated! I didn't think it would be this complicated to get a system for this truck...

Thanks!

Thanks!

Assuming I'd want the ORY from Speed Engineering as well?
Looks like their ORY comes with some clamps. Summit clamps just better or are they missing?

Looks like that whole setup may be cheaper than I expected...:)

Just spoke to the guy at Speed Engineering. He also recommended using different clamps that would do a better job.

What header bolts? Do they have locking retainers?

Thanks again!

Ordered the clamps, bolts and Aerokroil tonight. Gonna talk to SE tomorrow.

Assuming Stage 8 locking bolts are good.

Overkill on the header bolts but, hellz yea!

Cant wait untill you post results!

Thanks! Me too.

I'm curious on the tuning with the ORY... Probably just get an autocal from Justin, but how does the EFI Live software know if the engine is running rich or lean, etc after removing the 02 sensors?

What's the best route for gaskets? I see the SE headers come with a "standard" composite gasket. Looks like some are using the factory gaskets?

Thanks again!

you would be tuning out the rear 02 sensors which monitor the condition of the exhaust after the cats. the computer monitors the air/fuel through your front 2 sensors which are still operational.. factory metal mls gaskets seem to be the way to go.

Yes, difinatly use oem exhaust gaskets.
Alot of guys reuse their old gaskets, but me? Im replacing those hookers with fresh gaskets.
Simple logic dictates, "why re-use a 25$ set pf gaskets that only saves me a couple bucks. But if they fail, costs me a couple hours of time to replace them."

Thanks guys.

Thinking about a higher stall converter (that still locks up for towing, mileage, etc) to help the launch a bit. Maybe a cam in the spring, since I'm gonna replace the old radiator and add some e-fans anyway...
