It would be worth it to double check the wires going into the rear of the socket by the hitch as well as maybe take some emery cloth or fine sand paper and clean off any possible corrosion on the connectors in the socket. You have a 13 year old vehicle so who knows what condition your wires are in.
Well that's the fun part, I got to move a switch them around, u want to help code it for me, I posed my wire mess

It’d be way easier to rewire your trailer to standard configuration.

If you need electric trailer brakes.
mine doesn’t have any due to weight, but I definitely wanted the power.

I don't have a trailer that has electric brakes,
So I'm pretty dumb do I find these wires under dash and run them down or do I just connect the 2 under hood I'm good,

You have to connect the brake control wiring at all if you don’t need it. Just do the power.
