Rando Updates...

Got her all de-molded/badged, need to hit it with the good old clay bar, 105, 205, and polish treatment at this point, get it really shinning.

And got the 4Lo/6Hi mod going on.
and HIDs in the lo and high, the lo has projector with decent cut off and the high is is just standard housing so it gets bright as FFFF when they are all on..

just parking light turned on

HIDs going in...
I put 10k in the lows, mostly for color I live in a big city and you really don't even need headlights on most streets haha, 6k for the highs incase I find myself out in the cut late and its dark....

Over the past week the colors have settled in the new HIDs and I am very pleased...Will get better pics of all the lights one night this week...along with order 6K Vleds for the entire bottom row to eliminate all the yellow

Going to keep cleaning the outside up while I get the big parts on the list together..

Next n line:
VLEDs everywhere
Running Boards off
Getting 20% tint all around. so back will be 20 on factory and frnt will be straight 20.
Finish detailing it and fixing little places in the paint
Swap Chrome Housing Bumper lights for Black housings to match Headlights
Order 1.5" BL lift and put that, the HD grille, and the bumper pad on.
Get everything color matched..

I think at that point I will be down to the fun stuff haha...

It's the way you posted them. You're new here and you're hyperlinking them to photobucket so when you click on the pic it sends you away from TYF instead of just inserting them as an image. Kinda like as if a spammer was posting links outside of TYF

I approved them.

Ohhh that makes perfect sense. Thanks for approving them. Got some more updates I need to post up haha. Going to search right quick for a better way to post so it won't link and trigger the spam-dar.

Litte teaser pic, got a lot of mods and a few upgrades done…

Had a fun time chasing down an alignment shop that could do it, apparently no one around here has the new jigs that clamp to the tires instead of the rim. Found a Meineke full of guys who race dirt track together and happen to have the new style alignment gear and it was gold.

Got board memorial day weekend, so I put the keys in, norcal mod and slapped the wheels and tires on for the hell of it, Cognito arms were in the mail on the way so figured why not.

The rodeo has 8-12s on 10k watts walled behind the drivers seat, 8 batteries, 320 alt, 200+ft of 0ga, 4-10" mids in the front doors along with some super tweeters. It gets mobile concert loud. 150+db daily no problem, Oh and 29" mud tires haha.

Pads/rotors, tie rods, and passenger side window regulator are on the list next.
Followed by 1.5 BL and HD swap. Then the drivetrain build up will start, at least that is the plan as of now.

Very nice job! Yours is like the bigger brother of mine!

A tip. I found spraying the wheel wells with black undercoating really made the truck look nice. I had my truck nice and polished but the gray and faded wheel wells (and trim) just sucked.

This stuff.
ZPUKPoX.jpg

Painted trim and wheel wells. I also used 105/205/klasse seal ;) You have good taste in polish!

What kind of finish does that undercoat have; gloss, matte, textured?

I have been spraying tire shine on all the plastic in the wheels which helps until it rains haha.

But I have been trying to figure out what I want to use to paint my frame and all the steering and suspension linkage stuff and rear axles and hitches; you know all that stuff haha. I wanted to fix all the little rust spots, nothing bad that a quick sanding with some 50or80 wouldn't fix. Then paint all of it black so it would all look new and clean.

Its textured/matte and lays on thick. It does deaden sound a bit. I wouldn't use it on the frame.

For rust I bought some of this. When I do my 4l80e swap and have some room, I'm going to coat everything I can on the frame. Its neat stuff and converts rust to a protective coating.

I could see that stuff work on atleast the top half of the rear wheel wells since it is already some kind of facotry sprayed rub coating like stuff haha, I will probably leave the plastic pieces clean plastic and continue shining them when I wash it.

That POR 15 looks crazy, googled it right quick ad some pics it is rough and textured guessing pieces that had severe pitting from rust, and then some pics it looks gloss black. Probably in the prep

Thanks! I think OPs is much more awesomer though. I'm going for a clean stock look so no one suspects a thing.

OPs wheels, debadging and other things are just **** though! Maybe someday I'll go for a tougher look.

Well thank you, I am still working to get it where I want it, But I also have a weak spot for clean stock trucks that just look good and sleepers. This is probably the showiest build I have every done.

Thinking I might take the roof rack and the ventshades off this weekend. Just to see how clean it really looks with out them. You can also delete the plastic body molding strips on the roof to give it an even cleaner look. Going to to things off one at a time and see how I like and put it back if I don't.

I still flip back and forth on whether I like stock mirrors or tows better, atleast on this truck that is.

Thanks man, I know what you mean. I keep seeing the same dumped and stanced matte white BRZ in town and it just looks so clean and I have never really been a tuner guy.

Make me want to flat the truck and try to get it sleek and smooth like the BRZ haha.

There is a pretty slick BRZ in my apartment complex I will have to get a picture of for you.

Also I think I may go pick up some of that rustoleum soon. My hoe could really use some!
