Ok, had my tune done this morning. One thing I found out on the way there, my car does not do so well when it is rainingg cats and dogs. The roads were really bad. I'm not sure if it was the fact that we have not had rain in forever, but there were spots everywhere where my traction control light would pop on and hit several spots were I hydroplaned.
Ok, on to the tune. I was not really sure what to expect when I got there. I thought maybe there would be a bunch of guys hanging out, talking shop. Nope, like I said, it was pouring down. But, you are with Justin the whole time in your car. Everything is done while you are driving. You start off by putting the key in start, then off, start again, etc... This is to get a baseline. Off you go, more data is read and collected. You then stop again, update and off again. Being an IT person, I was rather intrigued by all the data and software that was being used.
For my 08 Yukon Denali I pretty much went with their sport tune, as Justin noted. It is probably as much as you can safely get, I believe all TM was taken out as on these 6 speeds, as Justin said it was either yeah or nay. He also put a tune on my manual shift when I put it on M6. It now drives like an M6, LOL. I wish. Being so wet, I really have not gotten the chance to really open it up. But from what I have seen and felt it is amazing what these tunes can do, so much is changed. For being such a huge mass of steel going down the road, it really is fun to drive now. The shift points are now noticeable and firm, no more slop. What is also great about it is unless you are really harming it it does not feel hard, which is great. This way when the wife drives it she won't freak out . I'll have to see what my mpg starts to average.
Best $250 I have spent yet. Get it, check it out if you are on the fence.
