What do you all recommend? I don't want a loud ass one (my wife drives it 99% of the time). I just want one that sounds somewhat mean and low. Got any ideas?

Not loud.. Flows nice Volant!! Hands down for the price and quality.
I can't speak for magnaflow, but price is lower and quality is top notch. Not sure if they still have the special, but you might want to look into it. I got my complete catback for $225.. While your at it, have them hook up up with an intake too.
The sound is comparitive to stock. A little rumble, but pretty comparative. When you mash the throttle, the rumble is def. there, but nothing that's going to turn heads which is a good thing "for me".
I made a post of what the exhaust looks like installed. Only took about an hour with no directions. It was easy. I did mine with my grandfather, but it can easily be done alone as well. Nice little garage project.

Flowmaster 5o series SUV performance...loud at start up and got a nice tone to it especially around 3000 rpm but keeps the cab quite. I had it, sold it to someone on this forum I went louder thinking bout selling this loud one and going back the 50 it was perfect

flowmaster is designed for sound, there is little to zero other benifits of adding a flowmaster other then that classic flowmaster rumble.
magnaflow and corsa on the other hand utalize a straight through design, allowing air to flow more freely. Magnaflow uses baffling and corsa uses sound cancling technology. Corsa's do sound sssssexy too.... just to much change for my broke ass

As you can see, exhaust is merely a matter of preference.. They are all good, however, that was a good point on the flowmaster. I am not promoting Volant, it's just what I happened to choose due to price and appearance. I cannot justify a sound clip over the net. fyi, Volant is also a straight through design.
I finally got my intake and scoop in the mail today!!!!! after over a month of back-order.

Hmm, Sounds like Volant.. lol. You know what would be cool is to have Volant, Magnaflow, Flowmaster, Corsa, Ect all in one spot and listen to each one start up one by one. Like I said, internet video clips do NO justice as they all sound the same and most of them have the sound placement right next to the pipe exit.

Most exhaust shops will put the mufflers up on your vehicles to let you hear what they sound like before you purchase. Just gotta find one with a good rep.

i put on a magnaflow a couple weeks ago and love it. I just got the muffler and left the rear resonator on cause 1. havent found any tips i like and 2. dont know if i want more sound. For $100 installed it just sounds good, can hear it at start up and little rumble while its idling, when you give it some gas - perfect sound, then once you hit your speed cant really hear anything...
Best bang for the buck!

I ahve it but I took out the resonator, thing is too ugly to leave there!!
Then I got a Dual walled tip to replace it.

Mine is better than yours! and all the others suck! LOL! :boxing::roflsquared:
It's all a matter of what you have access to locally and how YOU prefer the truck to sound...or in this case how your wife want's it to sound.
I went with the volant super tips and noticed just a very slight difference in sound. It was for the denalli and didn't turn out well on our truck since we have a Tahoe with the 5.3. The quality of the exhaust was good!!! I just got the wrong one shipped was all.
So the next step was to go to a custom shop. I told them pretty much what you had said. My wife drives this 90% of the time and we wanted a rumble to it, no interior drone while cruising at highway speeds, but wanted it known when you jumped on it. I had a choice between Magnaflow and Flowmaster. They put the flowmaster on 1st and let me here the sound. I was sold! So that's what we did. I had the 4" tip exit out on an angle.
CORSA is hand's down the best exhaust that I have owned and ran them on a couple of my past H2's. Great quality, but pricey. This kit I spent $200 and change on.

Hi everyone, this is my first post and I love this forum. I just ordered the Corsa Sport Exhaust and the Volant powerCore Intake. I can't wait to get them and install it. I am a man with patience but for this I have none.
Bought the Corsa Sport for $669.75 and the Volant for $277.95. Seems like a good deal.

Where did you find the Corsa exhaust for that price? Most of the ones I've been coming across are $900+.
On a side note, those of you that are bigger gear heads than I am. What are the advantages of going with the bolt on exhausts like the Corsa Sport as opposed to going to a exhaust shop and having them weld and fabricate one for you with a muffler of your choice?

So the moral of the story is...exhausts are like a$$holes...Everybodies got one and they all sound different? I know i dont want a full cat-back system and these sound bites online suck. I guess I should head into a shop and have a couple tried out on the ride?

i dont believe there is a sound or quality difference, other than the fact that you can do it all yourself - hence the bolt on. Taking it to a shop you wont have to buy all the pieces that a bolt on comes with, they can cut out your muffler and rear resonator and weld on to there. The bold on is just one big piece (well bunch of little ones put together) but essentially you are buying parts to replace your old ones that dont need replacing, since you dont know how to weld... is this making sense, i feel like im rambling about the same stuff over and over...
point is bolt on you can do it yourself but spend more for whole kit, OR buy individual pieces and have shop weld it on <--- recommended
