Been looking into swapping out the old TV in the rear of my 2001 Chevrolet Express Conversion Van to a newer flat screen. Had two questions.

1. How do I remove the paneling around the existing TV? I don't want to break anything so been trying to find any information online on removal procedure and can't find anything.

2. Do I need any special wiring to adapt the new flat screen to the vans electrical system? I guess I will know better once I can find a solution to question 1.

Thanks guys and appreciate your time, been struggling with this for weeks and figured let's ask some real Chevy guys

Pics? You will want to upgrade any video cables, but power should not be any different.

power could be different. alot of the older "tube" tv's installed were actually 12 volt TVs with a 12volt in.... the big flat panels like Explorer puts in their van, the 26 inchers, are househould TVs and require an inverter someplace. never took one apart but we looked at buying one. what conversion is it? if its explorer or someone who might actually be in business now, you can ask them....

second bet would be to look at TV setups for RV's...and see what options they have for running of the coach battery as opposed to a AC generator....post pics up if u do this...we thought about a conversion van for an extra vehicle and it woudl be an older one like yours....
