Turned on AC and it runs (the compressor turns) but only for a minute, stops turning and then starts up again, runs for another minute and stops. It just continues this over and over. Don't know much about AC systems, where should I start?

when it does that it means it low on freon, i would vacuum the system and look for leaks then recharge it, its a safety thingy when the freons low the compressor will kickon then off then on, then it will finnally wont come on at all, so it wont burn out when the systems low, u prolly have a leak somewhere or just need a charge,

You should start by throwing a set of R134 gauges on it and see if you are low on refridgerant.
If you do not know how, have a pro do it. Have your system checked for leaks, recovered, vaccuumed, orifice tube replaced, vaccuumed, oiled and recharged.

Where is the low side service port on the 1998 tahoe? I've decided to recharge it myself first. Also, what should the pressure reading be for that AC system?
Thishigh presure switch? How do I check this and where is it located?

Turned on AC and it runs (the a/c compressor (http://www.partstrain.com/ShopByDepartment/AC_Compressor) turns) but only for a minute, stops turning and then starts up again, runs for another minute and stops. Hmm.. I would also go for the decision of throwing some a set of R134 gauges out there man. Any updates?
