there pretty much exactly the same width right around 56", the nnbs are taller however by a few inches, but that doesnt matter to me :)

YES!! Where are you located??

riviera rider
07-20-2010, 10:56 AM
im in chicago if u can figure out a way to get it ill let it go cheap! like 250$ for both the front and rear

---------- Post added at 09:56 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:51 AM ----------

well, first of im going to say is make sure you have someone to help u get the seat in the back or your going to mess up some plastics, i scraped the shit outta the new seat plastic which im going to have to sand and paint now, and i messed up my door panel pretty good

this is what rushing and trying to do it your self will do!!!!

but anyway got the rear seat in and wow its big, i think im going to have to cut into the floor to drop it down about 3"

besides that im inbetween on how it looks the bigness of it kinda throws off how i feel about it

Wow, that seat is high!

h0tr0d
07-20-2010, 02:37 PM
Would it be easier to make some custom mounts for it than cutting the floor? I think you're doing a great job, but I'd definitely modify the mounts before I hacked the body up.

Hey, look on the bright side, it might give the rear passengers a better viewing angle of the tv. :) "Yeah....uhh....that's how I designed it."

riviera rider
07-20-2010, 05:05 PM
well id rather just cut the floor and weld in new metal than mess with the brackets, cuz as they are in there now they work the same as in the nnbs to where they fold down then flip all the way up

im just going to cut the floor and weld in new sheetmetal and make them drop about 3" cuz its just way to high for me right now

---------- Post added at 04:05 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:46 PM ----------

UPDATE!!!!!\

just went outside and was looking at how i was gonna cut the floor to find out the floor in the tahoe has 2 layers where i wanted to cut it and the piece under the truck looks like its exactly where i wanted it 3" lower (right by the body mounts)

i think if i cut the top piece off inside and just do a little modification to the seat bracket it should drop the 3" i wanted and im going to see if i can push it back a little also

soooooo

looks like im going to have to tear everything out and pull the carpet up and start cutting to figure out what i need to do exactly :)

it like stadium seating. nissan xterra has that feeling. kinda cool actually

riviera rider
07-20-2010, 08:28 PM
its not bad if the people in back arent going to be 6ft, if i sit in the back my heads very close to the ceiling, so im gonna tear the full interior out and see if i can get it to drop about 2 inches in the back and maybe cut some of the bracket to actually move it back towards the rear a little more maybe 3 or 4 inches.

for me its no big deal cuz im not gonna be riding with people in back regardless, but id like to do it so that if anyone else wants to do this can fit people in there with no probs

gonna start tear down tomorrow after work

riviera rider
07-24-2010, 06:37 PM
Playin with some suede, think this is the color im gonna do the door material in, both this area and the bottoms on all 4 doors plus the tailgate

remember the door panels will be black however not blue anymore when im done

should have the whole interior out this week and gonna spray all the plastics next saturday, not sure if im gonna just spray the dash black or paint it, cuz i dontwant to paint over the airbag so i may just leave the whole interior black and just do the suede inserts on the door but use black suede on the headliner

we shall see how i feel

heres the seats!!! not sure which back seat im using yet, its either the 08 crew cab silverado rear seat or 2010 tahoe rear seat, both are nnbs same design just the silverado one may end up working better cuz that tahoe seat i was definitly gonna have to cut into the floor to lower it down

also test fitted the center console and front seat, the damn motors are locked up, but as of now the seat is in great position for me so im not bothered by it

the centerconsole will be fiberglassed up front to meet the dash

i also left the center of dash the oem grey to match the steering wheel/column plus the center console has some grey where the cupholders are so i figured itd look good like that instead of completely black

i'm wondering if the trying to swap 2006 seats in to a 95 would be as difficult.

That is what I have now. It's not all that difficult, although my 92 came with them already installed.

He (previous owner) just drilled new holes in the floor pan, and used large bolts with an array of thick washers and it feels safe. The only downside is that it's a very tight fit on the passenger side. With the door closed you can't really adjust the seat on that side. LOL The driver side is fine, and I know that makes it seem like it's not even and was done 'wrong', but that's just how it works with where the tranny tunnel is on these OBS trucks.

I was wondering what would any of you suggest...

I am doing a full stock floor body drop with a set of 24" and air suspension I was already told keeping my rear bench is a no. Due to the new wheel tubs and the center that needs to be lifted for the new drive shaft forming a center hump.

Only thing I could think of is new captian or bucket seats or a 80/20 split seat and just modd it and use the 80 any suggestions or ideas I dont want it to look odd with bigger seats in the front and tiny ones in the rear...

Any suggestions In would appreciate it thanks in advance...

ya depending on what area your in you can get the 2010 tahoe rear seats in leather dirt cheap, here in chicago they are switching the 2010 tahoe's into police vehicles and removing the leather and replacing it with something else so they are on craigslist in flocks i paid 200$ for mine brand spanking new

and the back actually wasnt hard at all once i stopped thinking so hard about how to do it, i kinda rigged it up but i mounted the rear 4 bolts straight thru the floor, then for the front of the rear seat i used a piece of 2x6 ran it all the way across bolted it to the floor with 1/2 bolts then bolted the seat in the 4 oem spots straight thru the wood with 3/8 bolts

the fronts aint hard at all just making your own holes and using nut/bolts to lock em down

but you do have to get your seat belt latches replaced cus they are not the same

impala is for sale for 13000$ with the full stereo setup of the 4 15" shockwaves and shockwave amp i originally had in the tahoe a few months back or 10500$ as is needs minor shit for it to be compelted, guts are all done motors done up 350 wit mods

he hasnt even started on the 2 door he wanted to know how much i would charge him to do it and i told him its gonna be expensive cuz he's got everything for the seats, heated memory power seats with the brain box for it then he has the door panels from the escalade and wants me to get them to fit on his doors somehow so i hope hes ready to drop some damn cash on this project lol

I've been thinking of swapping the seats from my 06 hoe into my 95 hoe. is the brain box for the seats just the door panel buttons or is it separate.

06 im not sure, where are your power seat buttons on the nnbs they are on the actual seat so u just have to run power to the switch, but not for the heated then u have to have the brain box and all that good shit, the seats i got are just power however my motors are jacked up so i need to get new motors or manual brackets

I live in the chcago area, what would you charge to do a similar swap on a 97 hoe??? not sure what year seats, most likely whatever is decently priced...
hell i have no real place to work on it, and id help with the build.:Handshake:
Also, do you put in a specific search word for craigslist to pull the 2010 seats??

what was the end result with the height of the rear seat?? did you lower them?? or leave as is?

Sorry for all the ?s but everday i get into my car and think about how bad i need to swap the seats:emotions122:

Do you have any pics of the front seats and center console after the install? You never posted any and I would love to see how they worked out/fit in there. Checked your cardomain and didn't see any either

sorry guys havent been here in a while, but ya i had to get rid of the truck :(... ended up selling it because i needed the extra cash at the time to get my license back and finish up my other project.

heres some info for the guys that asked however

the front seats and center console looked and fit GREAT, the front of the console would need some type of custom fiberglassing to match up to the dash however nothing crazy or too expensive though.

the rear seats how ever were VERY tall. pretty much a 6ft tall person was damn near head on the ceiling. but it looked so nice it didnt matter lol

as for mounting the rear seat i sat the bracket up on the the hump and it lined up perfectly across the floor and drilled holes and ran bolts/nuts straight through. and for the front of the rear seat under neath i ran a 2x6 across the floor and had pieces on each end (which i was going to cover all in black carpet to match the floor) and bolted the 2x6 directly to the floorboard then the seat to the wood. it actually wasnt too hard once i figured that out.

you could probaly use some sort of metal fabrication as well but i dont have a welder since the shop i worked at closed down ...

heres some pics from the guy he finished up the install and got everything finished up blacked out this is the only pic he sent me

and to anyone in the area that is looking for paint or help doing the install get at me shoot me text or call when ever ya want
