Hi,

I have a request for some information on the base audio system found on a recently purchased 2020 Tahoe "Special Purpose Vehicle" which has a few differences from an LS that I am figuring out and have not had much luck finding information on...

What I know so far; there is no third row seating (obvious), no roof rails, limited badging and no satellite radio or GPS navigation (there is on-star and a shark fin antenna), possibly there is no MRC MagneRide (still researching) as it seems to ride a bit rougher than my 2015 Tahoe (LS). It does include 2 batteries, a beefed up Alternator, and some Z71-style off-road covers.

I travel a bit in remote areas without good radio signals and so I want to upgrade to XM Satellite right away if possible. Can anyone fill me in on what I'm up against there?

I see there are OEM radio modules with XM Satellite on Ebay, but question if they are plug and play, or will they require wiring modification and/or sytem reprogramming?

Thanks in advance for any advise or information you may have to share.

you can upgrade the radio, you have to do some research on which module you need for sirius besides the HMI and it would need to be programmed to your vin
and if you want onboard nav you need to add a gps antennna to the new HMI
this one works, takes about 3 weeks to come from china the price is good
