Got a Motorola from Radio Shack. Couldn't be happier - I can browse maps as I'm driving too which is always helpful to find short cuts in DFW traffic!

Have a Kenwood 8120 in my 08 LT. Works great, and wiring it up was not too bad at all. Used PAC OS4 and PAC SWI-JACK for integration.

Did you have the stock Navigation already? I don't have it, so i'm also debating getting a used stock one or aftermarket.

yeah, I actually have the red fire background setup since it matches fairly well with the wood trim.

yeah I put a double throw switch in that uses either the standard ebrake output or connects to ground, so I get stock functionality or I can fake it and let the wife watch video

I bought the Tahoe with non-Bose CD/XM only (plus RSE) but had them install OEM Nav. It worked but was super quiet since the OEM Nav requires the Bose amp since all of its outputs are 'pre-amp'

I took it back and had the original CD HU put back in and I bought the Kenwood. Much better deal, quality and features

I like the stock navigation systems, but I am curious if anyone has put in a aftermarket navi in?

I have one aftermarket Navig system and it is working fine. You can go for it without hesitation. Even aftermarket parts gives warranty.

I know you had a thread in another forum with a GREAT write-up on your install. I'm getting ready to do this same upgrade, except with a DNX 5120 that I pulled from another vehicle. Is there any way that you could be persuaded to re-create your install steps here, it looked like it was going to be very helpful to me...

I've got the stock navi in my '09 LTZ, and noticed that the nav is serviceable but not great. Can an aftermarket head unit wire up and work with the rear cam? if so I'd be a lot more inclined to replace the nav, until then I'll rely on my iphone to be backup navigation.

we have the OEM Navi, and are not real happy with it.

We had an AVIC D3 in our old truck, those things are ancient, the maps are old, and the GUI is pretty tough.

the big gripe on the OEM Navi is the keyboard is non-qwerty, so takes forever to type stuff in. it's just plain WEIRD to use a non qwerty keyboard.

and the way it saves the names & stuff is weird, and it never quite says "save" it just says "back" is disconcerting.

the co-pilot can use the On-Star app on your phone to download directions while you are driving is best part.

I can speech-to-text my Driod: "Navigate, 1139 Farrow Road, Columbia SC"
and it will be in GPS mode & spouting directions before the wife can get the address in her iFone.

we have a GARMIN also, and we use the GARMIN & cell phones instead of the in-dash.

I would love to have an iPad mini put in but wouldn't be able to use the back up camera.
