Few years ago when the 2015's came out local dealer had a disgruntled parts manager about to quit and he was selling new take off 17's/18's for $550 a set out the door !!!

I picked up 3 sets, 1 set I kept, others I flipped. $$$ went for a family trip lol

Found some wheels I liked on clearance for only $85 each... Ordered them and some Goodyear Duratracs tonight.

Dang, just got a call from Discount tire and the rims I ordered were out of stock. I cancelled the rims and ordered just the tires and they took $100 off to compensate me for the free mounting and balancing I'm missing out on due to the rims not being in.

Oh, well... Was thinking about just coating the factory rims black and seeing how that looked.

I paid $1350 for an 01 LS Tahoe 4x4 with 237k miles and a trans with about 40k on it. The truck was not in great mechanical shape and had to be towed home- 1 brake line, a radiator and fan clutch, some suspension work later it has become quite reliable for about $1800 invested.
Luckily I do all my own work.
