Yeah wife and kids will do that to ya. I don’t have to worry about that anymore so I bought myself an 85” flatscreen for a Christmas present lol. Bedroom got upgraded to the 65.

926-336. $70 on Amazon right now. I forget which member here bought one but they said the fit and finish looked OEM.
Was me and it fit nicely.

Color is a touch off but so is the airbag cover. Much nicer than the one that was cracked and rattled

I can't see this crack from the driver's position, even when I lean forward over the steering wheel, only from outside looking down through the glass. It might've been there for a few months, but I just noticed it. It doesn't rattle yet. I'm sure it will get bigger though.
If you drill a small hole right at the point of the crack, that should prevent it from growing

it's the start of directed advertising, soon enough in the future facial recognition will be blended with advertising, so anywhere you are seen then advertising will be directed at you based on your footprint. no bull just a matter of time
as for now the station might get a little money incentive for the ad play
That reply made me think of the scene from Back to the Future II where Marty gets his first glimpse of digital advertising.

@George B - I couldn’t find the mute button. Believe me I tried after that first rear elbow.

Can anyone tell me who the hell came up with the idea to put monitors on every gas pump and then thought the best option was to let them play at full volume? I was pumping gas about 2:30am and nearly started throwing rear elbows at the pump, thinking someone was trying to sneak up and play a prank on me. A guy pulled up right about that time and I could tell the look in his eyes was saying something like “uhh…this crazy MF is literally throwing blows with an imaginary person, it’s like the parking lot scene from fight club. Should I just keep driving or stop and record this?”

No joke. He pulled at the pump furthest from me. Put it in park. Left his car running and then locked the door.

Back to the original point….What’s with the screens! I know I don’t get out much, especially not without adult supervision. Are these things everywhere? They’re distracting and incredibly annoying.
I remember when battlefield game added billboard signs in-game that could do directed advertising.
People were freaking out about it.

I thought it was kinda amazing, creepy but amazing. lol

I have been at a few pumps where they just had news playing.
Those were ok.
I would settle for non stop cat videos playing...

A few pumps where i actually looked had a discrete volume control...

A new way of advertising. Get used to it. They’re in bathrooms now too. Take a piss and an ad plays right in your face. Luckily in my state we still have station attendants pump your gas, so it doesn’t really work since the screens are pointed at the back of my truck and I just roll up the window and turn up the music. :)
That’s news to me. I’ve never seen one in a bathroom either. I’m thankful for the rock I live under.
Being face-to-face with Maria Menounos or Shira Lazar with Little Chubby Dub already in hand might lead to excessively long piss breaks.
Again…under a rock. So I have no idea who any of those three people are. Is that some new hip-hop group or something?

Edit: after reading the follow up posts I understood your comment a little better. I then had to laugh at my ignorance thinking you meant “Maria and Shira, featuring: Little Chubby Dub”. Right over my head with that one. Ha!

Any risk of it “spidering”? Are you thinking a right angle drill / Dremel tool, or is there be enough space for an standard drill/impact?

As for teh hoe.
I worked long hours last night, replaced all of the mains after doing an oil flow mod to the thrust bearing...

On the thrust surface on the crank, i took some oil soaked sand paper and did some smoothing.
Did my best to do a mild cross hatch.
Started with 600 and went up to 2000 grit.

The crank is not great this go around.
And i can't get an oem replacement right now.
Best i can get is a used crank...

I also found that you cannot remove the rear main bearing with the rear cover in place.

I might be able to modify it to allow removal, but then I'm cutting into the sealing surface on the pan.

So the rear bearing is slightly tighter than the rest...

I don't think it will matter much, but i have this image of the crank sitting in there slightly crooked in my mind. lol
We are talking something like .0002 difference

Anyways i cut up my hands pretty good last night working the crank.

I'm feeling "ok" about the cranks thrust surface...

+ the extra oil flow for the thrust bearing and loosened bearing tolerance should make good use of that high flow pump.

Overall the bearings look pretty good, the worst looking ones shared the oil flow path with the bad thrust bearing...

4 more rods to go, then i can start the tightening sequence.

Yay...

Nice work. Best of luck.
I can see you thinking about that crank being crooked all damn day until you end up taking off the rear cover and fixing it. I have ocd as well…some people just don’t understand. Ha!

Yeah, in my head it's how much money i spent to have this thing perfect.

and i'm thinking about buying this, do an external filter before the oil coolers.

:hmmm2:

at a minimum, it will give me some more locations to do a pressure check and prevent clogging up the oil coolers....

Saw someone's thread where they installed one under the front plastic skid plate.
Seems like a perfect location to me...
And it would give me a reason to break out the ol rivnut gun again...

I installed a remote trans filter to the inside frame rail just in front of the engine under the splash shield.

If you plan on doing this for the engine oil on the oil cooler line you could probably mount it on drivers side near the lines.20200809_155114.jpg

That's what i'm thinking.
for the transmission, i believe the cause of my thrust bearing issue was some metal i found in my radiator transmission cooler.

Thinking if say I damaged the transmission pump, or something about the new converter...
then it's good insurance to prevent future clogs from confusing the hell out of me.

:yaoface2:

For engine oil cooler side,
From what I saw in the pan, the engine oil cooler plumbs after the filter.
Is that correct or do I need to re-review the fluid path?

Cannot believe you’re doing this while it’s still in the truck. Lol
