A week after overheating and replacing the firewall fittings, heater hoses and coolant reservoir, my water pump started leaking. I assume it ran dry when the coolant boiled away and then ruined the seal in the pump. Regardless, I installed a new AC Delco water pump this afternoon. Not a difficult job, especially since most of the hoses were new. Here's the during photo after cleaning the block.

When I unboxed the pump, I noticed one corner had been smacked in shipping. Since it was outside the sealing surface, I just carefully filed down the burr so the gasket would seal.

All done. It took me about an hour, taking my time.

Getting ready to replace the pump on the Burb.

I went with Gates for the lifetime warranty through RA.

Same with the tensioners and idler pulley and Thermostat.

Dropped the tank on Saturday. Some of those connectors sucked. It's about half full so I just used my harbor freight transmission jack and it worked great. The line running to the front was packed full of pellets but I got it cleaned out. Still need to clear the black line running the length of the tank to the the canister - forgot. Also bought another canister GM 1510943. Does anyone know if I'll need to replace the cylindrical vent valve?

I'll be installing a DeatschWerks X3 module with DW400 pumps and AN lines. Going out of town for the next few weeks.

Been working through some customizations using ChatGPT and code. I have a Dynavin N7 pro and it was always hard to read the artist and song title on the SiriusXM tuner.

ChatGPT was able to write the code and then I was able to review to enhance the color and font size. I can now actually see the info with sunglasses on and I'm next working towards getting more than 10 presets for Sirius XM channels.

I need to contact them to see if I can release it but I now know it is possible. I can't tag @okfoz but he may be interested as I know he's got a N7 as well.

Ai saves me so much time.
The more detailed your description is the better the result.

It makes mistakes, so it's always best to have a basic understanding of it.

I have been able to let it debug it's own code with good success too, it's all about details and errors though.

I have had issues with letting it make code more fancy while debugging, and i had it revert to the basic code with the fixes and had that work great.

I love it, super handy.
Just don't give it personal info.

I have also put in please "ask me for clarification if needed".
And had it spit questions out, but it's not great at it.

It likes to spit stuff out, then ask for clarification or options.

One time i gave it dirty code that did a good job explaining what i want, and it fixed the shit out of it and explained what was wrong.

At work we have copilot, i use that often looking for things internally or policy related stuff.
It also seems to have my work all cached, so it searches my own logs to be super creepy/helpful... lol

And sorry I'm not telling you, just putting this out there for anyone else thinking "Ai eh?".

Everybody knows of my wet driver's side floor dilemma I been complaining about for a few years. This past year I have been getting some very random drip streaks on the inside of the windshield. In the area of the shark fin. (I already put a bead of sealant around that a few years ago.) It would only happen after sitting overnight. I could drive in a downpour or car wash and it would not leak a drop. SO frustrating. I figured maybe there was condensation forming on the tint brow and maybe a bead of water running down the glass???

Then 2 weeks ago I was driving in the rain and I saw the actual water drop run down the windshield. Caught the event in action. I cleaned the entire gap between the top of the windshield and body and applied a bead of sealer all the way across. So far I have not seen the drip marks yet. Hopefully that solves it.

It's taking me a while to get the moisture out of that floor board carpet/padding. I keep forgetting to remove the damn floor mat when I park it. I am hoping it solves that problem as well, time will tell. It's been raining every damned weekend so I have not been able to pull the carpet up and hit it with a heat gun.

ALSO, had a water drip starting to develop in the right rear hatch the past few weeks. There were small drips hitting the floor next to the rear AC intake. After I sealed the windshield I went back there and pulled the harness boot off and removed it's plastic mounting base. The crevices of it were packed with gunk. I cleaned everything up real nice. I put a bead of sealant around the snap in base piece and snapped it into place. Then reinstalled the boot. That seems to have done the trick so far.

Grab some Damp Rid from HD and put it inside the Hoe. That'll suck up the moisture.

I had a slow bead leak repaired today on one of my wheel/tires, at the place where I purchased them.

While I was there, they rotated the tires, as it is free for the life of the tire at the place where I purchased them. What I did not know, is that they also re-balance all tires for free each time that they are rotated.

so some years ago I replaced the original console lid with a Dorman 924-875 which at the time I probably paid $160 for, the original oem one's are ridiculous
the fitment was fine and I moved my faux wood trim piece over no problem, that was all fine and dandy up until a couple of months ago the dorman suffered the same fate and the leather cracked right where my elbow rest's. so off to shopping I went I had recently replaced the one in the silverado as well with a amazon repop with success so i went with a $40 amazon lid for this as well.
So the lid I chose has some minor tolerance issue's mainly with the mounting screw hole lineup but not a deal breaker, the top design where the cell phone holder is, is slightly slimer and deeper. I was able to move the wood trim over but on backside I had to use 2 longer screws and it left a tiny line in the leather where the black trim was I think that may disappear over time but it's pretty faint regardless. The padding is certainly better it has a nice cushy feel and the overall look is fine.
for $45 I can't complain, replacement is just a bunch of philips head screws all around takes about 15-20 minutes, not including any modifications that may be needed if moving over the trim piece.

pretty sure they use the existing trim piece, I don't recall it looking new afterwards, i did similar like you did and removed my dash bezel piece beforehand, just not the airbag
