I don't think there has ever been a good alternative for the rear shocks on the nbs trucks I tried when I had mine and had tossed the originals right off the bat, kicked myself in the ass afterwards when I had to go buy new ones
Damn.. really making me think about replacing those with the Bilsteins. Maybe I should replace the Nivomats with OEM, and just level the front with the 5100’s.. fuuug.. add another $400 or so to the project.. lol

So after my HU install, I started to notice my HVAC driver side knob was getting hard to turn. I figured somehow there was additional pressure on the housing from the HU, and I would get to it when I plugged in the rca’s for the sub amp. Well, then it got harder to turn, and quit working entirely. Of course, pulling the knob off revealed 3 nice cracks in the middle, from cranking on it. Argh.! So off to Ace Hardware, to find a sleeve of some kind to fix it up.. I ended up with a perfectly sized (grade 8 lol) washer, and a snap ring for good measure. Went ahead and did the passenger side as well. Should hold well for a long time!894c4ec75b37e3a3f8bed7c3b150ab8e.jpge8ab195bd1fb617ff28e95217bf66d83.jpg

Also, notice I have 2 lights to replace in that HVAC control board.. LEDs May be coming.. not sure I wanna go down that road. It’s a PITA..

I love Ace. I have used them so many times in the last few years. Nice work Sam.

You didn't happen to do this repair in my driveway a few weeks ago and need to run back to the store for another snap ring at some point, did you?
