I have some, just can't find the damn stuff. I'm sure I'll find it when I'm looking for something else--as usual.

I have the same problem, too...
My garage is pretty organized.... But as they say, " No matter how organized your kitchen is, you still have a miscellaneous drawer ".

OK. I got the WinTec2 Version 2.1.2 software installed on my Note Book running Windoz 7 Ultimate.
I installed to my E: Hard Drive. I'd not use the default install path as Win 7 will lock those files and stop you from editing things.
So if you see 'Program files (x86)'? Delete that part from the install path.
If you have one Hard Drive it should be C:\WINTEC2\
The install will complain about older files. KEEP the newer files! They will work fine as they are backwards compatible.

Once the install is finished do not start the program yet. Go to the folder you installed WINTEC2 into.
RIGHT click on the WINTEC2.exe and select the Compatibility Tab.
Set it for Windows XP Service Pack 2 and click the Run as Administrator. Save and OK. Your done!
The program runs fine BUT I do not have a Tech 2 to fully test.
AND I will have to get a USB to serial port adapter to fully test.
